Tunnel Tail is a squad-based RPG that takes the player underground where mouse tribes struggle with the dark forces of the Lumini who seek to destroy both the mouse and human worlds. The player is the last hope the mice have to win their freedom. Players must train a burrow of mice to join the mouse leader, Cezar, and his crew. Players send their mice on missions to the human world, where danger lurks in every shadow. The mice gain strength as they train in tunnels and with each victory in the human world. Players can earn new powers and accessories to equip their mice for more challenging battles against corrupted mice, the Lumini, and ultimately, the dark master Luzen. Through the multiplayer mode, players can share their burrows with friends to find the right mouse to face off against the dark forces. The goal is to become a mouse legend by conquering the Lumini and freeing the mouse world from the grips of Luzen.

Battles are fought from a third-person perspectives where both sides takes turns using different powers. By winning fighters experience can be distributed among different attributes and new powers are learned. The game is free and features no in-app purchases.
