Dragon
Dungeon Explorer is a great expanded version of the game Gauntlet. It amplifies character abilities and magic while still allowing players the freedom to search regions without requiring previous dungeon victories. If you're a Gauntlet or role-playing fanatic, Dungeon Explorer is for you.

Computer and Video Games (CVG)
The gameplay is challenging, competitive in multi-player mode and very, very addictive, and the whole thing is brilliantly presented and packaged, with passwords being given after each guardian is killed so you can continue from where you left off. An essential addition to any PC Engineer's software collection.

ACE (Advanced Computer Entertainment)
The gameplay is incredible rewarding, and the fact that you're given a password so that you can continue at another time keeps you coming back for more. Both graphics and sound are stunning, with small but beautifully detailed sprites, imaginative backdrops and some of the best tunes you'll hear this side of an Amiga.

Video Game Den
All in all, Dungeon Explorer is a wonderful game (even to this day) with an unique multi-player mode, a fairly large world to explore, and a solid and fun gameplay.

Power Play

Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)
Dungeon Explorer is the perfect hybrid of action and adventure. The game essentially plays like Gauntlet, but text and adventure screens are thrown in and fit the theme perfectly. Outstanding graphics help compliment this card that guarantees a long quest and plenty of thrills!
