Power Play

TurboPlay
This little-known arcade game features some great graphics and animation. The cartoon style of the characters and background make this game very enjoyable to play. Don't miss the chance to add this game to your collection. [rank in issue #5]

The ability to buy and experiment with various weapons is easily the highlight of the game. The action moves at a leisurely pace, and is definitely on the easy side. Enemy projectiles move slowly and are shaped like large, orange circles. After breezing through the initial "airship" stage, and then through caverns filled with floating orange donuts, the challenge finally kicks in with a treacherous underwater stage. My friends weren't particularly impressed, but this likeable shooter is a natural for younger gamers.

Ordyne isn't a bad game at all. There's just not enough game there to warrant the four-meg investment. The cartoon settings also detract from the main shoot-'em-up action. Instead of non-stop blasting, you spend more time flying from point to point. Colorful, but not a lot of fun.
