Power Play
Nach der famosen "Afterburner"-Umsetzung von NEC Avenue für die PC-Engine durfte man auf die "Thunder Blade"-Adaption sehr gespannt sein. Die schlechte Nachricht zuerst: So gelungen wie Afterburner ist die vier Levels lange Hubschrauberballerei nicht. Jetzt die gute: Im Rahmen der PC-Engine-Fähigkeiten haben die Programmierer erstaunlich gute Arbeit geleistet. Die 3-D-Grafik ist flott, allerdings lange nicht so fließend wie bei Afterburner. Dies ist auch nicht weiter verwunderlich, denn die 3-D-Routinen bei Thunder Blade sind weitaus aufwendiger. Spielerisch kann man nicht großartig meckern. Mir persönlich gefällt die Mega-Drive-Version zwar etwas besser, Fans der Arcade-Originals dürften trotzdem zufrieden sein.

Computer and Video Games (CVG)
Another Sega coin-op conversion, with you at the controls of a super chopper, pitted against enemy tanks and aircraft. The arcade game was no great shakes, and this conversion suffers further with jerky graphics and yukky sound. Very disappointing.
