Trivia

Did you know that the alien complex in the "Turrican 2" extro was inspired by "The Book Of Alien" from 1979. A sketch of comic artist Moebius.

The previously-mentioned 'Katakis lives' banner refers to an old Rainbow Arts shoot 'em up which was quickly removed from sale after a lawsuit from Irem, due to its similarities to R-Type - a similar situation to The Great Giana Sisters' Mario cloning. A few months later, Katakis resurfaced as Denaris, which was tinkered with slightly.

Factor 5 presented a Turrican II demo on a computershow in Cologne in 1991. Only 900 copies were available for the public and overwhelming demand caused riots on the show with two people wounded.

Some easter eggs:

- shoot the very first "EXIT" arrow (pointing down), it will increase your score

- on one of the shoot-em-up levels (just before the vertical rocks I think), a heli with a "KATAKIS LIVES" banner would appear, shooting it resulted in a nice reward
