The audio and visual presentation are awesome and The Walking Dead seasons 1 and 2 are favourite narratives of mine, so immediately this table appealed to me. Smart table design makes this table a good deal of fun, if perhaps just a shade more cramped than I would have liked.

It’s the little details that help The Walking Dead Pinball stand out. The plunger that launched the ball into played being replaced by a swinging axe, the boarded up door with zombies trying to break through just under the ball drain, and the sound design are all superb. The only thing that I didn’t much care for was the difficulty. Compared with Zen’s other offerings, The Walking Dead Pinball is pretty tough. This is mostly due to the space between the flippers feeling like it’s just too big, resulting in many a lost ball. That being said, if you are a fan of the Telltale games, or just a fan of good solid pinball games, then you won’t be disappointed if you pick this one up. For the amount of content that you get, $2.99 is a good price for this DLC.

Zen Studios have already perfected their craft with Zen Pinball 2, but The Walking Dead amounts to their greatest extension of it. Brimming with detail and referential nods to their source material, it successfully plays toward fan expectation and delivers a notable experience that will be appreciated by The Walking Dead and genre fans alike.

WindowsThe Digital Fix (Sep 05, 2014)
Whilst not quite in the same league as Zen’s endeavour into the Star Wars universe, mainly due to the table feeling far smaller than its predecessor, The Walking Dead is a fun blast for a few hours and a great introduction to the table range for newbies. Fans of the adventure game may come away a little disappointed that the integration of the story didn’t stretch as far as it could have done, but it’s merely an accompaniment to the main course of solid, enjoyable pinball.

The Walking Dead Table reflects the physical evolution of Pinball. The game's journey from mechanical, to electric, and then digital form causes things to look cluttered and jumbled – but there's still a great mechanical predictability to the game. In the past, Pinball may have always seemed out of sync with history, but it has come a long way since your granddad's day – perhaps its time is now?

The Walking Dead Pinball is a great addition to anyone’s Zen Pinball 2 collection.
