Description

Warface is an free-to-play multiplayer shooter which focuses on fast action on relatively small maps. The game is set in a fictional world in which corporations have taken control and elite soldiers fight against each other. In each match, the player takes one of four classes: Rifleman (offensive firepower and the support ability to give out ammo packs), Engineer (specialised in explosives and can repair armor), Medic (carries a shotgun and can heal respectively resurrect fallen teammates) and Sniper (long-range combat). The game offers two playing modes: versus (up to 16 players) and co-op (up to four players). In versus, the possible variants are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Plant the Bomb (the attacking team needs to plant bombs on certain spots while the other team needs to prevent it), Destruction (King of the Hill) and Storm (the attacking team tries to take three command post from the defending team). The co-op missions are linear maps in which players shoot a lot of enemies until they reach the end.

An important part plays the inventory which stores all weapons and gear bought in the in-game shop and from which the player chooses the weapon loadout for the next match. The game has three currencies: dollars are earned in matches, crowns earned in co-op missions and "kredits" bought via micro-transaction. While the regular gear can be purchased with both dollars and kredits, they are either only rented for a few days or are prone to deterioration and need to be regularly repaired with more money. Another restriction is that those items need to be unlocked through matches before they can be purchased. Experience is earned by playing matches and, depending on the game mode, is also rewarded for support actions and not only kills. Some items can only be purchased with kredits (a boost for earned experience/money, instant co-op resurrections and random item collections) or crowns (the most powerful gear).
