Fatal Fury 2 is, overall, a focused fighter and a solid sequel that’s more worth your investment of 900 Wii Points than its predecessor was last year. The problem that plagues it and dampens its appeal is that there are many more sequels in the series yet to come, most of which render this game just as obsolete as it renders the first Fatal Fury. If the nine bucks isn’t that big of a deal to you, then absolutely download this edition and enjoy it. But if your Wii Shop budget’s a little bit tighter, still consider holding on to that digital cash and waiting for the inevitable arrival of the next, better version -– Fatal Fury Special or Fatal Fury 3 will certainly show up in the not-too-distant future. (The first of those is already available on Xbox Live Arcade, too.)
