Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn strikes just the right balance between depth and accessibility. There are many secrets to discover and many challenges to overcome, but even when the AI consistently sends you packing, victory never feels out of reach. There's a satisfying amount of customization available to you in mixing and matching favorite units, crafting choice weaponry, and overseeing the statistical development of your heroes with each successive battle. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is a must-play for anyone who enjoys strategy games.

Gemakei (formerly Zentendo)
Refined Fire Emblem gameplay blended with all the elements fans expect: intriguing story and characters, endless text screens of dialogue, intesne strategy battles, lackluster visuals (except for the FMVs), and an epic soundtrack. Those looking for something new, howvever, will find Radiant Dawn merely lives up to being a sequel that outdoes the predecessor, but in no way innovates the series.

But really, these faults are minor. Radiant Dawn is one of the best strategy games you'll find on any console, with a crazily addictive strategic core that more than makes up for the subpar visuals. The only thing that truly sucks about this amazing head-scratcher is the likely -- and unfortunate -- chance that it will get lost inside Mario's galaxy this winter.

With its highly accessible game design, and classic Fire Emblem charm, this game has more than enough material to entice anyone to pick it up and play it until the radiant finale.

Hardcore RPG/strategy gamers should love Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn. Along with some stylized visuals the game has simple and streamlined gameplay including very basic control which really makes the game easy to pick up and play. On the downside I think the game may be a bit too streamlined for some. I feel that my time with the game really does warrant a recommendation, especially to those RPG/strategy game fans. However my fear is that in a time when so many other huge titles are being released on all the consoles out there Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn may get lost in the crowd.

In spite of its weaknesses, Radiant Dawn delivers where it counts: Engaging characters, an interesting storyline, and above all, terrific strategic gameplay. You can get happily lost for hours in the game’s complicated systems for weapon benefits, support bonuses, and character biorhythms. And when it’s all laid out nicely on a neat little grid like that, the hell that is war actually seems fun.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is an incredibly rich experience lacking in visual flair but offers unparalleled depth in gameplay, story and character. It may not be for everyone, but those who’re intrigued by it most likely won’t look back.

Overall, while it's by no means the most impressive Wii title, Radiant Dawn remains a solid game. The plot is great, the gameplay, while mundane, is entertaining. The graphics are a bit of a drawback, but real Fire Emblem fans will be able to overlook it. If you're a fan of the series, or if you're just looking for some a great tactical RPG, then consider adding Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn to your collection.

As far as classic strategy games go, Fire Emblem pretty much harks back to the beginning of time. The game got its start in Japan 17 years ago on the original Famicom, and has since seen over ten iterations across Famicom, Super Famicom, GBA (the game's USA debut), DS, GameCube, and now Wii. Over the years the systems have changed, but Fire Emblem remains a steady constant, offering the most hardcore strategy gamers out there some of the deepest strategy and difficulty with the most minimal control scheme possible. It should come as no surprise, then, that Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for Nintendo Wii does very little to change a formula that's been around for nearly two decades. The involving story is still there, the classic turn-based strategy originating on Famicom Wars (the 19 year old inspiration for Advance Wars) is at large once again, and players of a whole new generation have a chance to experience exactly what Fire Emblem is all about.

Game Positive
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is a solid strategy game for the Wii. A bulleted list of the game's options would most likely lead a potential buyer to believe that it is a run of the mill turn-based game, but that's far from the truth. The heart and soul of this title lies in both the amazing storyline and the many creative battles. It never grows stale, which is a fairly amazing feat considering the number of hours packed within. And by the close of the story, you will actually care about your characters and what happens to them, something that cannot be said about most other similar games in the genre. While the presentation is certainly lacking, the gameplay still shines, so if you want a deep and lengthy strategy game for the Wii, look no further than Radiant Dawn.

Fire Emblem: Radian Dawn is a great successor of the franchise. The story is superb, the gameplay stands like a building and with 38 missions and 72 characters the game offers several hours of amusement. A full-fledged tactical turn-based game which I advise to all Wii gamers.

Clearly, it’s easier for Nintendo to stick with the crumbly old Fire Emblem formula of the GBA and GameCube days than attempt to innovate or come up with something exciting and fresh for the Wii, which is a real shame. The story, at the very least, could have been written with more style, and the graphics jazzed up to give us a bit of joy to go with our tactical frustration. The old-school controls and clumsy menus are even more evidence that not a lot of thought went into this sequel. At least they added widescreen support. The annoying thing is that Dawn of Radiance still has a strong and addictive strategy game at its heart, if you’re willing to put up with all of its shortcomings.

Good Game
It has a tremendous playlength which is actually NOT due to its difficulty, though that is certainly a part of it. So even though it’s not the best combat system, if you like it, there’s a lot of it.

The game occasionally delivers on it's promise --- the straightforward approach to strategy encourages careful observation of your units and their abilities and just like in the earlier releases, there's a joy to overcoming seemingly overwhelming odds to reach victory. This may enthuse some of you out there, but I'd try before I buy this time around.

Good Game
It’s so hard that I think a lot of people will just put it down, and really only veterans will persist to the end. From the start it ASSUMES you know how to play, but there is a tutorial if you look for it. I liked Advance Wars MUCH better, however this is the closest thing to Advance Wars on the Wii.

Ultimately, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is a huge disappointment. It seems that nothing was learned from the making of Path of Radiance, and as a direct follow-up, Radiant Dawn can't even live up to its predecessor's epic story. The walls of text and unforgiving difficulty level will do nothing but alienate and discourage newcomers and even some veterans, which makes it a game purely for the hardcore crew who are dedicated to the series or the genre--anyone else need not apply.

I know that the Fire Emblem games generally fare better than this, but Radiant Dawn's attack options are fairly limited, it has weak GameCube graphics, and a bland, poorly told story. Fire Emblem fans deserve better than this.

Video Game Talk
If you are looking for a game experience similar to recent Final Fantasy games, you will ultimately be disappointed with Radiant Dawn. However, if you craved focused gameplay and a story without embellished full voice acting or tons of FMV cut scenes, then Radiant Dawn fits the bill. While the inclusion of such features cannot make a lackluster title a hit, they can make an enjoyable game more immersive if done right. At its core, Radiant Dawn is a game that's familiar to fans of the series. While Radiant Dawn makes no use of the Wii motion features, those passionate about an established series remaining faithful to its roots would feel such changes unnecessary. However, inclusion of a Wii control scheme would have been nice. For all the nitpicking, Radiant Dawn delivers a challenging gaming experience for the diehard, classic RPG fan. The difficulty can be a bit of a deterrent for casual fans, who should probably rent the game before purchase.
