Rennspiel oder Adventure? Ganz klar Rennspiel!

Need for Speed Undercover lacks challenge, struggles technically, and practically requires sunglasses to play. The framework for a stronger game is present, but the final product simply doesn't come close to competing with games like Midnight Club: LA or Burnout Paradise. Don't blow your cover, or your extra cash, by picking this one up.

Worth Playing
If the rest of the game weren't so poor, the mechanics of control, especially but not limited to the Logitech Speed Force Wireless, could be called the beginnings of a solid experience. There may be nothing upon which to build here, and the EA team is better off going back to the drawing board, but maybe they are just suffering from the ups and downs of rebuilding this heroic franchise. I hope so because in the next outing for NFS, it's going to be hard to take any excuses seriously.

Need For Speed Undercover on the Wii is unexciting and full to the rim with bugs and lazy programming. After looking at the box art, a player would expect a thrill packed, high-speed buzz. Instead, they are met with a flawed game with little to prove that it is an adrenaline-pumping title. It is both a waste of time and money to play this game.

IGN
Need for Speed Undercover is not a good game by any stretch of the definition. It has numerous technical problems, including cars that don't appear until you get close to them and a poor enough overall visual quality that it can be hard to make out the track. The open world setting is misused as many races are closed off, and the driving mechanics on the whole are uninspired.

Cheat Code Central
As racing games go, Need for Speed Undercover is a weak offering. The Wii controls offer nothing particularly interesting (though it's worth noting that the game is compatible with the Wii wheel accessory and Logitech Speed Force Wheel) and even four-player multiplayer does little to relieve the game's significant problems. If you're looking for a great open-world racing game, Burnout Paradise or the recently released Midnight Club L.A. are far better choices. Unfortunately, neither is available on the Wii. Even long-time Need for Speed fans are best served by passing on Undercover.
