If you never got a chance to play the previous versions of this game, the Wii version is a great way to get back into Tony Montana’s world. The unique interface allows you to take control over Tony like never before. Those looking for a solid M-rated title for the Wii can find one right here with Scarface: The World Is Yours. For players whom have already gotten through the PS2 or Xbox versions, there isn’t much for you to see here unless you want to try it out for the controls.

Everything in Scarface fits with the movie, and while it suffers from the same open-world issues as GTA and the like – characters and items fade in, AI isn’t always the sharpest, and the world has a somewhat “unpolished” look to it – the control, immersion, and overall soul of the game is there. Scarface is a deep, engaging, mature title on Wii, and widely recommended to anyone who can handle its vulgar nature. Vice City, eat your heart out.

Overall, Scarface: The World Is Yours is an action game that appeals directly to fans of the Scarface film, the mafia and crime genres, and action video game fans. The recreation of the Tony Montana character is spot-on, the driving and shooting are a blast, and there’s a ton to do–all of the markings of a great action game come to play here.

If you are old enough and can handle vulgar language then be sure to pick this up as it is most definitely a great title on then Wii system that showcases just what can be done with the Wii Remote if given a bit of time. Great stuff!

For those who avoided the title the first time it was released and are itching for a wide open world to explore on their Wii, then I really have no problem recommending Scarface as a fix. The excessive profanity and heavy violence quotient is likely to make a large portion of gamers turn away, but really those people aren’t using their Wii for games of this type anyway. Recommended.

This is one of the blokeiest-bloke games we have ever had the privilege to play. There are naughty words galore, loads of blood and one of the most iconic male figures in cinema history. You can worry about the ironing later, ignore the dinner that needs cooking and forget about watching How to Look Good Naked on the telly for a bit, right now, in this moment, you are the manliest man that has ever lived and it feels great.

Overall, Scarface: The World Is Yours is an enjoyable game. Killing and working your way to the top of the Miami drug-cartel is a fun ride. Radical Entertainment has the ‘GTA’ gameplay pumping full speed - so GTA fans will know what to expect. But all the car stealing, shooting and mobster fun is given the Scarface twist. Yes, the game has its problems, but the Scarface journey is an entertaining one. For fans of the movie or anyone looking for an adult, sandbox game for Wii, Scarface: The World Is Yours is definitely worth a look.

We’re left with a game that was almost-great on PS2 and Xbox, and is almost-great again on Wii. If you’re a huge fan of the film though it’s well worth a look, and we have to say (and this goes for every version of the game) – any game that has a guy getting mauled by a tiger within ten minutes automatically gets at least one thumb up in our book. Oh, and you can swear at corpses too. That’s pretty cool, right?

Scarface: The World is Yours is certainly a game you should consider if you're a fan of the Grand Theft Auto games and are looking for a game in a similar vein to play on your Nintendo Wii. For the most part the game is enjoyable. The control system does take some getting used to and it's a shame support for the classic or GameCube controller hadn't been included to cater for those who just can't get to grips with the controls. In fact the controls are going to make or break this game for many. Those who spend time to get used to the control system will enjoy the game for the fairly enjoyable experience that it is. The rest will simply find the controls too awkward and conclude that what we have here is a game that wasn't designed for the Wii and doesn't take advantage of its unique controls.

Scarface is the closest thing to GTA you’re likely to see on the Wii, and has a lot to recommend it. If you’re not a fan of that genre, or if you don’t want your folks banning you from playing videogames for the rest of your life, you may want to steer clear. This is a flawed but decent conversion of an older title based on a flawed but decent movie. That level of consistency is pretty rare these days.

Given the drought currently afflicting the Wii, it seems churlish to completely dismiss Scarface's many amusements just because of control issues, especially as they can be accommodated with patience and practice. For the bulk of its playing time Scarface remains an indecently entertaining bad taste romp and, for those who don't have access to a PS2 or Xbox, it's still worth having. Even so, given that the handheld versions of multi-platform games are almost always radically reworked to better suit the hardware, it'd be nice to see the Wii get the same treatment once in a while.

Scarface is a great technical achievement on the Wii. It looks the part and provides all the required controls via the Wiimote and nunchuck. However, it doesn't seem able to do what all great games in this genre need to do, it never becomes more than the sum of its parts. Maybe this is down to a lack of imagination and development of the environments and characters. Maybe it is simply that the original premise is not compelling enough to create the level of emotional involvement needed. Whatever the cause, this game leaves us feeling that it could have been so much more. And, whenever that happens in a game of this genre you can't help but turn your thoughts to the upcoming granddaddy of sandbox open world play, Grand Theft Auto, and hope the next release makes good on this and all the other broken promises.

At its worst, Scarface is a clumsy, angst ridden and self indulgent idea with a game tacked on as an afterthought. At it’s best, it is tired, clichéd and derivative. This isn’t the worst game I’ve ever played, (that would be Patriots www.gamerseurope.com/articles/876) but there is absolutely no reason to waste your time on something like this. Vice City may be old but it’s still vastly superior and if you want some GTA style hooliganism for your Wii you may as well go for The Godfather.
