If you've already picked up 07, what you're really getting here is a shot to play some impressively immersive golf using the Wii Remote. It's a solid demonstration of the technology. And if you're trying to tempt a golf fan into golf gaming, this could be just the ticket. Hardcore fans, meanwhile, will have to choose between the innovative control of the Wii version and the better graphics and online features of the others. Whichever you end up getting, you can look forward to a solid game of links.
Wii Sports showed us that the Wii has the potential to be a good console for fans of sports games in that it will allow us to play in a more natural way. Wii Sports is little more than a tech demo in truth and most will want games of substance to play for months on end. Those looking for a golf game to play on their Wii console are going to be happy with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07. It provides a solid and natural golf swing method and there are enough modes to keep most gamers happy. Not having an online mode is unfortunate however and this is something that I really hope is included in the inevitable Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08.

Is Tiger Woods Golf 07 worth picking up for the control functions alone? Despite the steep learning curve, I’d have to say yes. While Wii Golf was an excellent launching point for golf games on the Wii, the sheer amount of courses, players, and game modes in EA’s offering sets a new bar for the genre on this console. With an appropriate amount of development time, it will be exciting to see the graphical power EA can push out of the Wii for the 2008 version. For the time being, all golf fanatics and fans of the sports genre should feel confident in purchasing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for the Nintendo Wii.

Game Over Online (May 29, 2007)
Overall, this is a solid golf game. If you already have played through this game on another system, the new controls probably aren’t enough to warrant a new purchase, as they are the only new addition. But if you haven’t had the 07 version, and are a Wii-control fan, this is a must have for the Wii. It is certainly the most full-fledged and satisfying golf experience on the Wii so far.

GameSpot (Mar 13, 2007)
If you own Tiger Woods 07 on another console, there's little reason to pick it up again on the Wii because there isn't any new content. However, it's certainly the best golf game available for the Wii at this time, and there's plenty here to keep you busy. Tiger Woods 07 does a fine job replicating the feel of actually swinging a golf club, and just as impressive is the fact that the control scheme is accessible to both golfers and nongolfers alike.

While other titles have emerged on the Nintendo Wii that take a shot at golf, this really is the first quality title in the genre. It’s a fun game to play, and it will challenge you immensely. This is the type of sports game that anyone can pick up and play. It’s not too difficult to learn but also rewards those who practice by enabling them to improve their game. For EA’s first shot at bringing Tiger Woods to the Wii, it’s not a bad outing and definitely the best on the Wii. Golf fans and casual fans should give it a shot.
Operation Sports (Mar 28, 2007)
Fortunately, both the nature of the Wii - and its audience in general - makes it more likely that gamers simply want a copy of Tiger so they can have some fun taking whacks on the virtual links; and there's no doubt that grabbing some buddies and playing a rambunctious round of Skins fits the bill quite nicely.

Tiger Woods for the Wii isn’t the massive upgrade some hoped it would be, but it has potential if they improve the motion next year. It’s still fun, especially with four players, but it’s just not enough to pry me away from its 360 counterpart.

The problem is that it's harder to find than a green ball in deep rough. This reduces the game to a rather cumbersome multiplayer activity - or at least one you'll all have to train for separately - and while it's hard to deny the charm of the controls once you've gotten to grips with them, it's rather easier to deny it marks on the basis of how silly the game is about getting you to that point. The sad thing is, that with necessary refinement, this could be one of the Wii's best.
IGN (Mar 14, 2007)
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for Wii is good, but not great. I like to think of it as an important first step. EA has with the title created a fun, but sometimes-flawed golf game – one overflowing with gameplay modes and options, but missing some control nuances. If you liked Wii Sports golf, but always wished you could do more with it, Tiger is your game.

When all is said and done in regards to Tiger Woods' first outing on the Wii, it's obvious that the control method is going to be the main focus of attention. And while the title's misgivings are obstacles that anyone interested enough in the sport will learn over time to overcome, as a beacon towards accessibility to gaming for non-games players, they'll no doubt serve to hinder rather than endear their experiences. You can of course plug in the nunchuck attachment to participate via traditional means, but that would only serve to defeat the object of buying Tiger Woods for Wii in the first place and not the same game on any of the other formats. Undoubtedly next year's edition will be tweaked to iron out any of this season's problems, but for now Tiger Woods' offering on Nintendo's little white box of tricks is decidedly under par.

Game Revolution (Mar 26, 2007)
Damn straight. It’s golf you can play on your couch with one hand. Your other hand can be engaged in smoking, drinking, eating, one-handed clapping, or all of the above. The world’s laziest sport just got a whole lot lazier. Aside from the one-handed approach and a lack of online play, this game isn’t any better or worse than last year’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for the PS2. If you have a Wii and no golf games, pay the green fee. Otherwise, wait for a prettier course to open up.
The Video Game Critic (Jun 09, 2007)
Tiger's playing modes include the addictive Tiger Challenge where you complete various mini-games to unlock features. The target-shooting challenges are insanely fun, but the new "one ball" games are garbage. The menus are loaded with options, but I don't know what half of them mean because once again the cheap bastards at EA skimped on the instruction manual. There doesn't seem to be a way to save your progress in the middle of a round, and that's a glaring oversight. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is clearly a flawed product, but like real golf, you'll keep coming back to it for more punishment.
