I'm not convinced Wii Fit Plus is intense enough to serve as a stand-alone exercise routine, but I think it's a fine supplement to a regular workout routine - if only to monitor your progress. You'll come for the fitness but stay for the fun.
Wii Fit Plus is without doubt the finest self-improvement title on the market and it should hopefully see all those copycat efforts scurrying for the nearest bargain bin. Clearly, this is not a title for everyone and it certainly wont change Seth Rogen's mind. However, there's no denying that, while not the deepest game in the world, Wii Fit Plus is well-designed, well-meaning, imaginative, charming and, most importantly, good fun.

Whether you already own Wii Fit or find yourself completely new to Nintendo's best-selling phenomenon, Plus is great way to burn some calories while having fun. Every last feature of Wii Fit is copied over to Plus, and Nintendo has also added in six new exercises and 15 new balance board games on top of a calorie tracker, customized workout programs, a local multiplayer mode and, of course, the ability to weigh your pets. There's still some issues -- BMI is inaccurate as a measurement system, the lack of online leaderboards or challenges is a major oversight at this point, some of the added exercises and games fail to compare to the others, and the virtual trainers' dialogs repeat too often. Still, Plus is much cheaper than a gym membership and if you use it right, with proper diet, you can lose weight or tone muscle and have a good time while you do.
Nintendo Life (Nov 03, 2009)
Whilst the failure to fully address issues from the original Wii Fit is a bit of a disappointment, Wii Fit Plus is still a good exercise program with a large array of fun activities that will appeal to a broad range of Wii owners. If you already own Wii Fit, it's definitely an upgrade worth getting.
The Telegraph (Oct 30, 2009)
But these concerns aside, there's plenty to recommend Wii Fit Plus. It's fitness game which is pleasing to the eye, and if not completely perfect, certainly capable helping users reduce their weight. If this sounds like damnation through faint praise, allow me to be blunt; Wii Fit Plus is a solid entry in the fitness game genre. Despite its shortcomings it's guaranteed to make the act of exercising enjoyable and if you don't already own a game of this type, but are interested in trying one out, Wii Fit Plus is a no-brainer; as an entry into the genre, it is peerless. And yes, after just one workout you will feel less guilty about the packet of crisps you ate on the way home.

GameSpot AU (Oct 20, 2009)
Wii Fit was already a decent attempt at bringing fitness to a home console, and Plus improves on it by being more user-friendly and adding even more activities. It's still lacking some much-needed functionality--such as being able to choose from any exercise in your own routine and having better multiplayer options--but for its bargain price of $19.99 (A$29.95) just for the game, Wii Fit Plus is hard to beat, particularly for those who need an excuse to break out their balance boards.
Eurogamer.net (UK) (Nov 02, 2009)
Wii Fit Plus is indeed an enhanced version of the original, as Miyamoto said. It's just a shame those enhancements aren't expansive or extensive enough to guarantee long-term value, or to justify the higher SRP.

NGamer (Oct 21, 2009)
While the game is technically improved, we didn’t feel the additions warranted a higher score than the original, as it really isn’t more fun.
