The Arcade version of Xevious appears in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die by General Editor Tony Mott.
Atari 7800 launch
Xevious was one of the "Fabulous Eleven" launch games for the Atari 7800.
Cancelled ports
Atari were doing ports to its 2600 and 5200 consoles which reached a mature state but were abandoned. Prototypes have surfaced and have been made available as dumps on the net.
Bootleg version
A bootleg version of the game was released on the Sega Master System in South Korea under the name "The Micro Xevious".
"Cameos"
Namco loved to slip the characters and icons from its games into other titles. Xevious hosts guest appearances from Rally-X (the secret "S" flags that signify extra lives or points bonuses).
