Mindscape Releases Al Unser, Jr. Arcade Racing for Windows 95 and Macintosh
15 Challenging Tracks Are No Sunday Drive in the Park
Novato, CA - September 7, 1995
Feel the need for exhilarating speed? Get ready for the ride of your life, as you join two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Jr. to take on fifteen of the toughest auto race courses ever created in Al Unser Jr. Arcade Racing, a new CD-ROM release from Mindscape, Inc. This challenging program makes extensive use of Microsoft Windows 95 multimedia capabilities to present a white-knuckle three-dimensional racing adventure, complete with music and real-life sound effects. Al Unser Jr. Arcade Racing is available on Windows 95, Windows 3.1, and Macintosh CD-ROM for an estimated street price of $40.00.
"Al Unser Jr. Arcade Racing was designed to fully exploit the multimedia power of Windows 95 and its games software development kit," said Bob Lloyd, CEO of Mindscape, Inc. "We think it's the most exciting arcade-style racing ever developed for the PC." "I really love this game because it captures the feel of racing," said Al Unser Jr. "It takes practice and nerve to play the game well, just like actual racing."
Take it to the Limit with Four Race Modes
The adventure begins in Training Mode, where users have an opportunity to circle the track alone, and get a feel for their turbo-charged car. After the warm-up, switch into Duel Mode to take on a friend in head-to-head gameplay via a network hookup. Or choose Competition Mode, and blast into a race against ten skilled professional drivers who respond swiftly to each movement of your car. With 32-bit architecture and high speed graphics performance, Al Unser, Jr. Arcade Racing pushes interactive racing to new limits.
