Good full-screen video and some really nice puzzles. The video and puzzles are a lot better on their own than combined; not very interactive. Another "multimedia" game. There's just not enough interaction here to satisfy most gamers.

The puzzles range from the simple (switch a letter at the beginning of a word) to the knotty (open and close valves to keep explosive chemicals from combining). But few of them seem integral to the story line. The best parts of Blown Away are the live-action scenes, both technically (love that full-screen video) and in terms of fluid, fast-paced narrative drive. And Skaggs makes such an amusingly caustic villain that it seems a shame to slam the proceedings to a halt for a dippy game of high-tech Concentration.

Leider ist es MGM mit Blown Away nicht gelungen, einen packenden Thriller zu inszenieren. Die verdrehte Storyline, die um einige brutale Szenen nicht herumkommt, schafft es nie, den Spieler in das Geschehen hineinzuversetzen. Als Aneinanderreihung zahlreicher Rätsel und Aufgaben ist das Spiel sehr gut gemacht, als Interaktiver Spielfilm oder Adventure fällt es jedoch durch.

Blown Away ain't actually terrible, but it ain't brilliant either. The tick-tock thrills just don't charge up the adrenaline when you're trying to diffuse a bomb by, well, placing numbers... in... a... sequence. And while there are enough red herrings and booby traps scattered about the adventure-gamish scenarios, and longevity has been 'guaranteed' with the randomly generated puzzles (that still get repetitive) it still doesn't excite the way it should. Or could. It fizzles. And flaps. Slowly. Save the fireworks for November...

Det spelar ingen roll hur mycket fullskärmsvideo som Blown Away slänger i ansiktet på en. Spelet suger. Hårt. Filmbolag ska faen inte göra datorspel.

Obendrein ist das Spiel nicht sonderlich komplex. Nach einem halben Tag hatte ich es zu 90 Prozent durchgespielt, wie mir die in einem Menü frei anwählbaren Rätsel verraten haben. Leider geht durch diese freie Anwahl die Motivation vollständig auf Grundeis. Schade. Puzzles wie das Farben-Sortierspiel sind gar nicht mal so übel, warum wurden deren Qualität nicht durchgezogen? Hirnlose "Senso"-Spiele oder ein "Memory" für Arme passen eher auf eine drittklassige Shareware-CD aus der Grabbelkiste.
