"I wore a mask as I approached, I was what I am not.
And though the pattern was unclear, it's meaning could be bought."
When you get up the next day, Grace gives you Malia Gedde's address and continues her usual work. Read the newspaper. Leave the book store and travel to the Police Department.
There, question Frick about Mosely and go on into the back area. Use the OPEN cursor on the temperature controls next to Mosely's office door, and set the temperature to 75 degrees or hotter. Enter Mosely's office and ask Mosely for some coffee. He will go out of his office to get some. While he is gone, swipe Mosely's badge from his suit. You just got it in the nick of time. When he asks Gabriel what he is doing with his suit, Gabriel will lie and explain that he thought he saw something crawl on it. Leave the office and the Police Department, and travel to Jackson Square.
Head for the northeast quadrant. You will see an artist painting. Leave and come back. You will see his painting get blown away by the wind. Follow him until you see the painting get stuck in the fence surrounding the statue, and he tries to retrieve it, but fails. Go to the southwest quadrant and watch the boy as he tap-dances for the hotdog vendor. Give the gift certificate to the vendor to receive a free hotdog, then give the hotdog to the little dude. Talk to the boy and ask him to fetch the painting sitting behind the fence. When you are given the painting, go back to the artist and give him the painting. The owner will thank you and promise to help you in any way that he can. Well, you have seven patterns. Six from the police file, and one from Lake Pontchartrain. Give those to him and he will find some way to reconstruct them. Now leave Jackson Square. Click on Greater New Orleans, and then the mansion icon to travel to the Gedde Estate.
Use the OPERATE icon on the door knocker. When Robert the butler answers the door and asks who you are, show him Mosely's badge to be allowed inside. You are escorted to a room with a burning hot fire and are told that Malia will arrive shortly. When she comes in and sits down, click the ASK cursor on her. Ask her about voodoo (x2) and Lake Pontchartrain. Ask her about anything else if you want. Finally, flirt with Malia. She soon finds out that Gabriel lied his way into her home just to see her, and has Robert kick him out. Once he does that, leave the premises. On the map, go to the French Quarter, and then click on the African mask to travel to the Historical Voodoo Museum.
Inside, click the ASK cursor on Dr. John, the proprietor. Ask him about Voodoo, then ask about Modern Voodoo until he repeats himself. Do the same thing with Historical Voodoo and Marie Laveau. Leave the museum and travel to St. Louis Cemetery #1, the icon representing an angel statue.
There, ask the watchman about Marie Laveau until he repeats himself, then do the same with Marked Tombs. Now use the sketch book on the symbols seen written on the side of the Laveau tomb. Leave the cemetery and click on the crystal ball to travel to Magentia Moonbean's residence.
Ask Moonbeam about Voodoo, St. John's Eve, Snakes, and Grimwald (in that order). When a list of choices appear, select the one that has to do with the demonstration. While Moonbeam is dancing, get the snake scale sitting in Grimwald's cage. When the two of you sit down again, give the tomb message to Moonbeam and she will translate it. She knows some of what it says, but the others she believes is useless. Go into your inventory and use the magnifying glass on the snake scale. After you have done with that, travel to the Dixieland Drug Store.
Watch as Madame Casanoux, the old lady as she comes in the store and talks to the clerk about some problems that she is having. When she leaves, ask the Clerk about Casanoux, and he will deny knowing her. Ask him about Animal Masks and then Willy Jr. You will be told that he will sell Willy Jr. for $100, nothing less. Exit the shop and return to the book store.
There, ask Grace to do some research on Casanoux. Day 2 will end. As usual, Gabriel will have a nightmare
