Description

Microsoft Bob is a user interface for Microsoft Windows and Windows '95 streamlining the bewildering world of computing possibilities for new computer users, filing programs away in themed menus with a "rooms of a home" metaphor. It includes one game.

Assisted by Hank, a pachydermic Personal Guide, GeoSafari follows in the path of Educational Insights' electronic educational aids, presenting multiple-choice queries on matters of physical and political geography, world culture and astronomy. Hank will ask series of questions based on the contents of various maps and diagrams, and 1-4 players get three tries to click on the correct answer in the list, with decreasing point amounts awarded after the eventual selection of the correct answer.

Trivia

In addition to full sets of questions pertaining to countries by continent, capital cities, US states, Canadian provinces, bodies of water, the solar system, American and world landmarks, and flags and greetings of the world, sampler question sets were offered in-game for expansion packs on the subjects of Animals: Predator, Pal, or Parasite and Science: Volcanic Landscape. In the BOB user manual these are revealed as specific subsets of what were marketed as add-on packs (a steal at only $24.95 US!), but which were presumably (given the BOB-independent release of GeoSafari: Animals) spun into stand-alone products following BOB's dead-on-arrival launch.

Yes, GeoSafari was distributed exclusively as a pack-in with Microsoft BOB, the only known game for that operating environment.
