Unbelievable graphics; fantastic sound; addictive and ever-changing gameplay. Windows slows it down, and there isn't enough info in the manual to get you started on your first colony. Might be hard for first-timers. If you're a strategy fan, you must own Outpost. Period.

Ich finde es angesichts des interessanten Szenarios und des wissenschaftlichen Hintergrunds schade, daß das Spiel dermaßen überstürzt auf den Markt geworfen wurde. Ansatzweise gibt es gute Ideen, auch wenn die Erkundungs- und Ausrüstungsphase ebensowenig spielerische Elemente zu bieten hat wie die schicken SVGA-Animationen. Ein gewisser Reiz steckt schon darin, die eigene Kolonie durchzubringen. Trotzdem kann ich Outpost nur Leuten empfehlen, die aus dem Entdecken von Zusammenhängen nach dem Trial-and-Error-Verfahren Spielfreude zu ziehen vermögen.
