Civilization 2 heeft al het goede overgenomen van zijn reeds bejaarde broer. Je vindt alle verslavende elementen uit de eerste versie terug. Dat slaat natuurlijk borg voor uren speelplezier. Voor diegenen die niet tegen hun verlies kunnen, heeft Sid zelfs een volledig cheat-menu ingebouwd. Gewoon op de menu-balk, de cheat-optie aanzetten. Daarna kan je vrijwel alles wijzigen: de hele wereldkaart tonen en eventueel aanpassen, geld in kassa veranderen, bepaalde uitvindingen bezorgen, het jaartal vooruit zetten tot en met een hele natie uitroeien. Maar ja, wie gaat daar nu gebruik van maken. Alhoewel, die optie om het geld in de kassa aan te passen zou mij toch wel van pas komen. Dan kan ik stoppen met die geldtransporten te overvallen.
