Batman: Vengeance

Batman Vengeance was definitely much more than I expected due to the high production quality found within the game. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed actually participating in a living cartoon in the form of an animated game that so closely resembled the show on which it was based. Overall this game will provide many hours of enjoyment. I am looking forward to finishing Batman’s quest to save Gotham city and I am certain you will also. I highly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys great action, adventure, superheroes, and especially Batman!

The game was easy to install. There is Multilanguage support which I think is cool. The graphics are pretty good. They run real smooth and have a simple design, comic/cartoon like. The sound effects and voice acting was well done. For controls you are using the mouse and keyboard. There are many confusing key commands, but often times they can land you some nice combo moves. The dual camera perspective idea is nice but poorly implemented. The game ran pretty stable for me with no crashes. This game is ported from PS2 and Gameboy. It is real fun and pretty clean. I just wish the interface wasn't so rough around the edges.

The presentation and polishing of Batman: Vengeance is all first-rate. It’s the crappy camera management and the twisted control scheme (without the game pad) that make it more of a chore to play than it should be. I finished the game because I really wanted to know how the story ended, but when it was all over I felt like I should get a “I completed Batman: Vengeance” T-shirt for all the work I had done. The next game that I review had better be better, or I’ll be exacting a little vengeance of my own.

Maniabilité à revoir et qui malheureusement ne permet pas toujours d'exploiter toutes les possibilités qui sont promises sur le papier. Batman Vengeance n'en demeure pas moins un titre particulièrement sympathique grâce notamment à la variété de son gameplay ou encore à sa trame dans l'ensemble bien ficelée.

Die Klopp- Kämpfe laufen gut, Springeinlagen dagegen weniger – die Kameraführung ist viel zu träge. Um Objekte zu benutzen, müssen Sie erst in die Ich-Ansicht schalten – hier steuern Sie Batman plötzlich per Maus, in der normalen Perspektive dagegen ausschließlich mit der Tastatur. Das ständige Umschalten nervt und nimmt zudem gehörig Tempo aus dem Spiel.

Finally, you should know that it won't take you a long time to complete Batman Vengeance. The game is comparable to Activision's recently released title Spider-Man: The Movie, but it's far less attractive and ultimately more frustrating. Similar to Spidey, I suppose it's fun and cool in that super-hero kind of way, but only for few hours. After that, it just becomes dull.

Batman Vengeance is another game in a long line of poorly done console ports. While the source material provides a rich and sometimes fun gaming experience, the overall game falls short on too many other points. The lack luster gameplay will leave you scratching your head after seeing the Batman cartoon series nearly brought to life on your PC. The game is entirely too short, and the jumping puzzles seem to have been more difficult simply to extend the life of the game.

Wieder einmal stellt der Joker Batman eine Falle. In dem Glauben Mary zu retten, begibt sich die Fledermaus in Todesgefahr - aber er entkommt in letzter Sekunde und besiegt den Joker. Nach dessen vermeintlichem Tod entbrennt ein Kampf zwischen Poison Ivy, Mister Freeze und Harley Quinn um den Thron des Erzschurken.

It took me about ten hours to play all the way through this game, and if I had not been fighting the controls and camera, I would have finished in half the time. I never mind if I die in a game ‘cause I suck-thems the risks-but to die because of the game controls just pisses me off to no end. In the end, Batman Vengeance is a cool game spoiled by a stunningly bad control set up, and a camera system that should never have made it out of QC.

Schade ist es in jedem Fall, dass man ein ansonsten sehr schön gemachtes Game aufgrund von vermeidbaren technischen Mängeln in der Steuerung niedriger bewerten muss, aber hier leidet, anders als bei Games, wo man "nur" über eine durchschnittliche Graphik meckern kann, eindeutig die Spielbarkeit.

Commercial tie-ins are a huge missed opportunity. People who normally wouldn't be interested in SimCity or Quake III: Arena can often be enticed into picking up a copy of Spider-Man. In a rational world, companies would put their best foot forward on these projects, ensuring a strong influx of new game fans and hefty future revenues. Alas, we don't live in a rational world, and for every Jedi Knight or TIE Fighter, there's an E.T.: The Extraterrestrial to match. Sadly, Batman: Vengeance, the PC version of last year's console title, is unable to overcome this curse.

Well, it feels like it's taken 30 days to create Batman: Vengeance, but I'm sure it actually took at least 40. Batman: Vengeance fails to be a good game. It just fails. Simple as that. It's not good enough. It could have been better. It's flawed. No mustard is cut. There is no cigar.

Raté, dommage... Hop, on a nos deux mots ! En fait, on n'aimera Batman : Vengeance que si on apprécie les dessins de Bruce Timm, et encore. Pour ceux qui n'y connaissent rien en comics, il leur restera leurs yeux pour pleurer devant ce truc plate-formeux-action, au background peu travaillé et à la jouabilité fort douteuse.
