At the event "GameStar/GamePro Leserpreis 2006" (23. February 2006) Battlefield received the trophy "Best PC Action Game in 2005" after the reader's voting of German gaming magazine GameStar.
Battlefield 2 was named #2 Game of the Year in the 2005 PC Game Awards issue of Computer Games Magazine (March 2006).
