In Battles of Norghan you play a role of a clan that enters into a large battle tournament and fights its way to the very top in a series of tactical battles, with managerial decisions taken in between. The game is divided to two parts - in the management part you can view your and your enemies' team standings, recruit units, outfit and train them. When a new round of the tournament begins you enter a combat phase - your and your opponent take turns to move and command units, until one team is completely defeated. The winning team is rewarded with gold and a better position in the tournament ladder.

The game offers dozens of spells, equipment, races and classes to choose from. Each race/class has its own advantages and disadvantages (perhaps with the exception of the powerful drakes) and stats that determine the units combat prowess, magical abilities and future skills advancement. In addition to that all combatants have their own personal contracts which (for two fights, five fights, yearly contract or life-time membership) with their own unique costs, lengths and expiration dates. All units age and may quit your clan long before you've reached your goal. Knowing when to switch a high-level knight for a low level minotaur (but one that could eventually surpass the knight in every way), or when to invest in training, learning magic or better items, is what makes up the strategical-managerial side of the game.

Battles of Norghan Windows A championship cup is fought in parallel to the regular tournament. Being eliminated from the yearly cup won't prevent you from fighting in the tournament. (demo version)
