Las fronteras protegidas por los aguerridos Caballeros del Rey ya no son seguras. Los temibles clanes orcos, más numerosos que nunca, acechan en todos los caminos. La traición está entregando las fortalezas a un enemigo poderoso y astuto.

Los orgullosos pueblos nómadas de las estepas están alerta, pues extrañas bestias merodean en la oscuridad, monstruos innombrables cuyo solo recuerdo evoca el horror y la muerte.

Ya no hay noticias de los valerosos viajeros de las tierras exteriores, antaño enamorados de Los Reinos Centrales y siempre en busca de tesoros y leyendas.

Ni siquiera los recios enanos, ocultos en sus palacios subterráneos de piedra parecen a salvo de la amenaza. Desde los túneles más ignotos de sus minas, un hediondo ejército de criaturas espantosas avanza inexorable.

El Mal se apodera del Mundo, la esperanza yace muerta junto a incontables cuerpos despedazados, ríos de sangre anuncian la masacre a los que aún viven..

Sólo la memoria de los más ancianos recuerda ahora las hazañas de un héroe y unos pocos guerreros, que en otros tiempos lucharon contra los Ejércitos del Mal, consiguiendo la victoria y el favor de los dioses.

Ianna, madre de todos los seres vivos, entregó al héroe una poderosa espada, éste se adentró en los abismos, se enfrentó contra el más terrible de los enemigos y le venció, expulsándole del Mundo.

Tras derrotar al Mal, el héroe murió y sus compañeros llevaron su cuerpo destrozado al templo de la Diosa. Allí fue sepultado, junto al altar de piedra en el que se incrustó la Espada.

Pero eso ocurrió hace mucho tiempo. Ahora El Mal ha vuelto y el fin se aproxima.
Es necesario un nuevo héroe, un elegido que sea digno de empuñar la Espada y destruir al Enemigo.. esta vez para siempre.

BLADE OF DARKNESS

The Lord created Chaos, and divided it in two parts, the Light and the Darkness. He gave to them life and thought, and so were born the Spirit of Light and the Prince of Darkness. But the Prince held the unspoken desire of supplanting his Father. He learnt in secret the language of Creation and tried to create a new being. But the new born would not accept the commands of the Prince of Darkness, and growing stronger, took part of his own essence and created terrible monsters and demons. The Lord and the Prince of Light tried to stop it, and they waged a great war. Gradually the being was weakened and finally defeated, but after this the Father was exhausted, and withdrew into the depths of the Universe.

The struggle continued for many years, until a young hero emerged to defy the Darkness. He was chosen by Ianna to wield the Sacred Sword, and fought the Evil in its own lair. The Darkness was defeated, but the hero was mortally wounded, and his friends buried him with his Sword in the Temple of Ianna.

But all that was long ago... Now, something strange is happening. The signals are clear. Foul creatures are awakening from their dormancy, and spreading terror and destruction... The Darkness has returned, and the end is near. A new hero is needed, a chosen one who will wield the Sword, and destroy the Enemy forever...
