BloodRayne is one of those games that you just have to decide about for yourself. While the action and graphics are cool to look at and play through, a poor excuse for a story and a general lack of depth to most of the game could turn off some gamers.

Bloodrayne geeft je waar voor je geld: het is een erg uitgebreid spel, misschien wel wat repetitief, maar Rayne heeft genoeg bewegingen in haar repertoire om je aan je scherm gekluisterd te houden. Visueel zit het bovendien ook wel goed, dus van onze kant hoor je absoluut geen klagen, integendeel!

Overall, BloodRayne is a strong game with a few flaws. The combat can be boring unless you take it upon yourself to mix it up, and while that can be done easily enough, you never really have to put any of Rayne's cool abilities to work, which is a bit disappointing in itself. Some of the level design is pretty good, while some of it is merely okay. The graphics and sound are pretty solid though. I admit I had quite a bit of fun with BloodRayne, and while the game certainly isn't perfect, it's certainly above-average. Don't hesitate to check it out if you're interested.

Bloodrayne is a hard game to talk about in a review. I would say that the gameplay is where the title really shines. Unfortunately, the game has very low replay value - expect to beat the game in close to 15-20 hours. That's why it's a bit difficult to recommend this game for purchase.

Het 'Busty the Nazi Slayer'-concept werd dan wel oppervlakkig ingekleed - tenzij u een flinke decolleté als 'diepgaand' beschouwt - maar bevat genoeg samengeraapte gameplay elementen om een portie pretentieloos vampierenplezier te garanderen. Bloodrayne is een spel voor al wie graag met lange tanden eet. It's rayning men. Hallelujah!

BloodRayne is not going to change the videogame industry, It has its problems -- some technical shortcomings here and there, some camera oversights and the occasional level layout difficulty, but I have to admit that I enjoyed playing through the 3D action title; that it delivered a fun little ride while it lasted.

Suivre Rayne dans son stage boucherie-charcuterie est assez agréable. On apprend à vider le sang des nazis avant de les couper en gros morceaux. Un vrai défouloir qui aurait peut-être mérité une réalisation plus spectaculaire.

In summary, great action, smooth controls and a very good 3D engine can only do so much for a game. Ultimately, you have to have a decent story in there and some good voice acting to make the entire thing believable and immersing. Without these crucial components an action adventure game can never truly become great. BloodRayne is a decent action-adventure that should provide players with some fun moments, albeit without any background or meaning to it. I had fun with it, but not as much fun as I could've had if the story and voice acting were even half-decent.

Une héroïne sexy, le contexte de la seconde Guerre Mondiale, un univers gothique où l'on incarne une buveuse de sang... Voilà qui doit plaire à beaucoup. BloodRayne a tout pour plaire.

Het belangrijkste bij elke game, en dus ook deze, is dat er aandacht in elke fase van de ontwikkeling is gestoken, en dat een team heeft geput uit goede inspiratiebronnen. Als het resultaat minder is, dan wordt het een heel ander verhaal. Het is duidelijk dat het team van Terminal Reality zijn stinkende best heeft gedaan op BloodRayne, toch geen vanzelfsprekendheid in gameland. Het is ook duidelijk waar Terminal Reality haar inspiratie vandaan haalde. Blade, The Matrix, Max Payne en een snufje Wolfenstein. Maar desondanks ontbeert het verhaal verrassende, onverwachte wendingen en uitdagingen, waardoor de game verworden is tot een eenheidsworst van actie. En daar moet je van houden.

Sous des faux airs de Tomb Raider gothique, Blood Rayne est en fait un jeu de shoot baston ultra-violent et gore. Bien moins catastrophique que sur console, Blood Rayne PC n'a cependant rien de remarquable, excepté ses excès, parfois jouissifs, parfois douteux, dans la boucherie.

These problems and the lackadaisical level design keep BloodRayne from living up to its full potential, but if you just want loads of brainless, bloody action, this game won't let you down.

BloodRayne n'apportant rien de nouveau dans le domaine, il se devait d'avoir une réalisation impeccable, à la fois fun et soignée graphiquement. Hélas, il en sort un jeu extrêmement répétitif à la jouabilité décevante. Cependant les fans du genre s'éclateront pendant une bonne dizaine d'heures à découper des vilains tout en gardant un brushing parfait, car le jeu est suffisamment rythmé pour se changer les idées après n'avoir rien fait de la journée.

There just isn't anything here that causes BloodRayne to rise above the crop of third-person action adventure games currently competing for space on your hard drive. While the blending of sex and over-the-top violence is initially intriguing for those who like their games on the spicy side, annoyances like the complete absence of originality and depth and the frustrating control system mean that there isn't much here to hold anyone's interest for long.

What grates me the most though is not the immaturity of the developers because, after all, they’re just trying to make a buck by appealing to the lowest common denominator. No, the bigger whores are the professional reviewers who are more than willing to overlook the gratuitous violence and rampant sexism that is prevalent in too many of today’s games as long as they have an enjoyable gaming experience and don’t have to struggle with the controls. But by doing so, they continue to perpetuate the stereotype that most gamers are drooling, addle-brained teenagers content to luxuriate in a sea of sex and violence.
