Trivia
In the German gaming magazine PC Player (issue 01/2000) Braveheart received a special award as "Biggest Waste of a Movie License in 1999".
Angus McFayden (who portrayed Robert the Bruce in the movie) acted as narrator and advisor in the game.
The game is endorsed by the Scottish Association of the Clans.
The reason there was no mention of the movie in the game was the game was originally withOUT the movie license. The original title was going to be "Tartan Army". When the movie was released during the developement, Eidos quickly bought the game rights and changed the title. The game was in developement before the movie, and has no relation to the movie except they both cover the same subject, despite all the material claiming the game was based on the movie.
