In the German gaming magazine PC Player (issue 01/1998) Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror was named as "Best Adventure in 1997".
If you watch carefully during the intro in Professor Oubier's house you can see a portrait of what looks like the Spanish villa from Circle of Blood.
When in the abandoned Subway station, after picking up the coin from the vending machine, use the coin on the vending machine. Then pick up the bar of chocolate from the machine and walk to the right to find a ghost. It will disappear when you get close to it, but then walk to the left and a secret exit will appear. Enter to unlock a scene from Beneath a Steel Sky, an earlier game by the same developers.
When in Quaramonte City, give the lump of coal to the goat by the Condor Transglobal building. It will tell you a funny story.
