Summary
A tasty game cut into perfect bite-sized chunks
The Good
It was the last game released by Legend Entertainment: a surefire guarantee of quality in my view. Pretty much standard adventure gaming in its design, but unlike many adventures where the plot is long and rambling and just an excuse for a set of gratuitous puzzles, this is cut, pizza-like, into 6 delectable slices. Each one is a mini-adventure, based on a quest set by visitors to the saloon of the title. Each one just the right length, and each one beautifully written and designed.
The Bad
It was the last game released by the aforementioned company. Shame. They did some damn fine work. I guess they reckoned, what with 3D cards and the like, that adventure gaming, as we had known it was dead. (In fact the lead character, a rather unattractive long-haired hippie-psycho was perhaps another sign that history had overtaken this game (and its developers)).
The Bottom Line
Tasty adventure gaming. Not well known, and impossible to get, this comes up on e-bay once in 6 months so you'll have to be patient, but its worth it. (By the way the game is meant to include a walkthrough/hint book so you might want to check this is included.
