is a freeware, open-source remake of Escape from Colditz
, an isometric adventure game released in 1991 for the Amiga. As before, the player controls four prisoners of war trying to break free from the prison built by the Nazis on a medieval German castle. Each prisoner has a different nationality, and start from their separate quarters to explore the surroundings.
The objective is to collect all the items required to escape the castle, with the necessary keys and tools found scattered around the maze-like rooms of the building. Guards patrol the area, arresting and sometimes shooting any misbehaving prisoner. The characters have a fatigue meter that is slowly filled after any action performed, and need to sleep to recuperate and continue their escape efforts. The game ends when the player is unable to control any of the men, because they either escaped, were killed or sent to solitary confinement. The remake uses the original resources, adding some optional graphic filters to smooth the image and the option to save and load games.
