The evil wizard Mervin has stolen all the color from Colorland, leaving it gray and dull. Help the wizard initiate Wanda get Colorland's color back.Color Trail
is a match three game. To make matches, you must place the mouse pointer on an item and, while holding down the button, go from one item to the another of the same color or one color to another of the same item or any combination thereof then release the button. The trail will clear and new items will drop in to replace them. Your trails can overlap each other and create a closed loop, if you wish. If you create a closed loop, any items caught inside the loop are also cleared.
There are two game modes. In Endless
mode, you just create trails to make points and new items will drop in to replace them. There is no time limit. In Adventure
mode, you follow the story of Wanda as she tries to restore the color to Colorland. The puzzles will, most often, fall into one of three styles. In the first puzzle, you must clear all the tiles by making trails over them to clear the puzzle. Pink tiles become light gray, light gray tiles become dark gray and dark gray tiles are cleared. In the second style, you simply make trails until you reach the required number of points. In the third style, you must clear orbs by making trails next to them. Pink orbs require three times, greenish-yellow orbs require two times and blue orbs require one trail to clear them. In all these puzzles, there is a time limit.
As you progress, you will have special pieces, called 'bombs'. The bomb, when part of a trail, will explode and destroy all the items next to it. The color bomb, when trailed, will change all the surrounding items to the same color, although they stay the same shape. The piece bomb will change all the surrounding items to the same shape, although the stay the same color.
At certain areas of the game, you have picture puzzles. These are a scrambled picture that you must unscramble. To unscramble the picture, you make a trail. The piece under the first and last items of the trail will then swap. When you click an item, the small puzzle at the top will show you where that piece belongs.
