Summary

A quality product

The Good

Everything in this game is well done. Graphics are excellent, sound effects are good, controls are easy. The missions are varied and often quite original. But the most important thing is the gameplay. Some people might be put off by the arcade style, but personally I enjoyed it a lot. I am not a big fan of simulators, I don't care about authenticity or realistic controls. What I want is fun and so what if hitting a canyon wall with the rotor blades just decreases your "hit points"? :) If it is more complex than LHX attack chopper, than it is too complex for me. The explosions, the weapons, everything is done so well that you will often want to replay a very easy mission just because it had a nice collection of very killable enemies. For example, my favorite is an ocean-based mission where you have to protect a yacht from pirates. The process of flying above the water, causing death and mayhem to the pirate boats is so much fun, I replayed it again and again. :) Another funny thing is firing at your own soldiers from the cannon. Their excellent animations and funny life-like behaviour well compensate for the feeling of guilt.

The Bad

The game had unfortunately some issues with my stereo-glasses. Also some missions were probably too tough, especially the "kill thousands of drones" one.

The Bottom Line

The best helicopter action (not simulator) game.
