View Mode: threaded | watch thread Looks like Tiberian Sun & Firestorm was just released for free (just as C&C and RA before) as a promo for C&C4.http://www.commandandconquer.com/classic Thanks for the info!
Somebody please update mobys about this fact, I don't know what's the customary approach (trivia? tech-spec? link? all of the above?)
File a release info item with as the date the date of release, worldwide as a country and as a comment "Freeware download re-release" or something similar. That it's released as a promotional action for C&C4 can be made clear as a trivia item.
We should really add a game group for these kinds of games too. "Freeware rereleases".
Frankly, the whole free/commercial/shareware thing on moby's needs an upgrade. Currently it's tied to tech-specs for a given platform which isn't the perfect solution. Release info only gets plaintext(?) comment, while I'd suggest to move it there.Let's say Teenagent: released as commercial in Poland, as shareware in US/worldwide? (the same platform, mind you) and recently made freeware (while listed under Windows, it was made free before the GOG release - which, by the way, is the old game packed with DOSbox, right?). Certain games made freeware years ago get submitted as freeware, while initially they were released as shareware - and they should be listed as such. Heh, I wish we could offer the free games themselves here on the site. Some of the older freeware titles are actually smaller than some of the screenshots for new games. :)
True, but then you'll have new problem: "0MFG, plz I kant run d1z gam3z, like wtF is dozb0x?!111one".
Wow! Thanks for the info. The only part of C&C saga I've never played!
Me neither. I dumped the series with Red Alert. BTW: don't you hate those phoney Russian accents in RA? As if they couldn't hire someone with thick accent to utter all those "Russian-flavored English" lines...
You missed the point... I think they're supposed to be that bad. :p
