Game.EXE (Nov, 2002)
Airborne Ranger.
PGNx Media (Oct 13, 2002)
The single player takes about 13 to 15 hours to complete depending on how you go about it. If you go for the stealth option it will take a lot longer. There are two teams, SAS and Delta Force, so it’s well worth replaying as the other because they both have different skills and weapons. Some missions sometimes have alternative routes so when you’re playing it doesn’t have to be exactly the same as last time. There are also many medals to be won, including the Victoria Cross (SAS) and Medal of Honor (Delta Force). Getting them all for everyone will be quite a challenge. The game also offers three difficulty levels. But co-operative is where a lot of the life span lies. Conflict: Desert Storm is currently the ultimate co-operative game. It should keep you going for awhile.

ActionTrip (Sep 20, 2002)
Overall, I found Conflict: Desert Storm a very fun team shooter. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for some arcade team-based gameplay, which flows real nice and it's addictive enough to keep you going till you finish the single-player portion. Sure, there were a few annoying design solutions I omitted to mention in the review, like the fact that you can't assign a specific button to switch between different firing modes (single-shot mode comes in real handy when the enemy is far away), but those are really negligible and don't take away from the game's dynamics. Conflict: Desert Storm is by no means a trend-setter, nor it is a revolutionary game. It's just several familiar gameplay concepts nicely polished and wrapped up together into a decent bundle of arcadish virtual entertainment.

Conflict: Desert Storm is an impressive effort from Pivotal. If the engine had more spit and polish to raise the realism bar higher, then we'd be close to a title that could become a firm favourite with the tactical action clique. It doesn't look too hot up against the graphical might of the Ghost Recon engine, yet we can still imagine Red Storm becoming a little nervous at the presence of this one. If you can forgive the whimsical visuals, then give it a spin - at least it's a rare opportunity for those of you stuck with low-spec systems to play something of true quality.

If the producers would have tweaked the gameplay a little more then i'm pretty sure Conflict:Desert Storm would have been one of this year's winning titles.
Worth Playing (Dec 10, 2002)
Conflict: Desert Storm is nothing for you if you want a game with a high realism degree (titles such as Ghost Recon) and unexpected events . Conflict : Desert Storm mostly has its missions outdoors, so it maybe lack a bit in variety, but after all it is based on Operation Desert Storm. However, if you are more the arcade type of guy, like games that are easy to start with, want a lot of action but dont want a game that will require you to look in the manual and perhaps enjoy playing console games, GO GO GO for it, this game has your name all over it! In general the game is just above average but the excellent AI gives it a big push in the back and adds to the score.

GamingExcellence (Dec 02, 2002)
Overall, Conflict: Desert Storm is severely lacking in many critical areas, generally a disappointment as the title comes off as a near direct port of its console brothers. Mediocre graphics, a horribly inefficient and frustrating interface, combined with an overall lack of polish set this one back a few years, something that you may want to look over when browsing through the shelves, even if it's in the bargain bin.
GameSpot (Oct 25, 2002)
Conflict: Desert Storm is a military-themed tactical third-person shooter set in the Middle East during Iraq's invasion of Kuwait and the resulting Operation: Desert Storm. It puts you in charge of up to four troops at once, and while the squad element opens up some interesting strategic possibilities, the game fails to compete with other, similar PC games. Its problematic gameplay and run-of-the-mill presentation keep it from succeeding on any level.
CanadianGamer (Mar 14, 2003)
For everything Conflict has going for it, there are simply too many things that go wrong in this game. Things from the voice problems to the graphical errors all add up, and in the end ruin any enjoyment you could have gotten out of the game. Couple that with the fact that SCi and Gotham Games have not supported the PC version since its release, and you have a disaster of a title. If you're looking for a good military shooter go out and buy a quality title like Operation Flashpoint, Ghost Recon or any one of the Rainbow Six titles. Otherwise, save your money for something more worthwhile because you won't be missing out on anything here.
