I have to admit I was a huge fan of the Incredible Machine that was put out by Sierra in the 90’s and this title is similar in more ways than one. It however, falls short when it comes to the little details. The definite advantage was that you clearly knew what the objective was! Even still, Crazy Machines is a fun and challenging game that everyone can enjoy.

I only have one complaint about this game and I will be honest that it spoiled my whole attitude towards it. First and foremost this game is rated E for everyone and it geared towards kids 8 and up. I installed the game and loaded it up. I'm sitting at the main menu and that mumbling scientist utters this: "Do you know what that means? That d**n thing does not work!" I was quite surprised to hear that comment in a game geared towards kids. I certainly would not want my children talking like that, especially at that age. Other than that major flaw this game is fine.

Overall Crazy Machines is a fun, if somewhat plain-looking game. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to just pick up a bunch of random objects and try to make them do something useful, this is for you. Its great fun for satisfying your inventor's urge, without all of the nasty patent process and legal fees.

While Crazy Machines doesn't take many chances or do anything we haven't already seen in a wacky invention game, it does offer a lot of content and puzzles. The interface is good enough that it never gets in your way, and the game is often challenging enough to satisfy, but not frustrate you. If you enjoy the puzzle genre, then Crazy Machines is definitely worth a look.

Crazy Machines is not something that you will enjoy because of intense graphics or an amazing storyline. However, it may be something you enjoy because it’s simple, fun, and it is an absolutely perfect time-waster

For any children interested in science and generally how things work, Crazy Machines is a perfect gift. It comes on a hybrid CD that works on both a PC and a Mac and happens to be on sale for just $20 from publisher Viva-Media. You won’t get more bang for your buck than that.

More than 200 puzzles are included in Crazy Machines, which is quite a lot of fingernail-biting gameplay. We wouldve scored this game higher if the developers added a hint system so stuck gamers wouldnt get frustrated, plus the graphics are subpar compared to other casual games, but this title is certainly unique among todays overpopulated genres and will provide many hours of mind-numbingly good fun.
