Our home, the planet Earth, is in jeopardy. Our continued existence is being challenged by the Earth herself. Ten years of severe global upheaval has claimed the lives of billions. The Earth has sent a message loud enough for all to hear. And that message is... change.

Humanity's future hinges on the prospect of colonising another planet. A planet nearby... a planet akin to our own. Surveying the Red Planet for the prospect of colonisation must begin now, and that is your mission.

Your destination is the Cydonia Mensae region of Mars. Photographic data received from probes has revealed the existence of structures that appear to be of intelligent origin, including a giant humanoid face over a mile long.

It is here, in Cydonia, that the first human shall walk upon Martian soil with the hope of finding a new home for mankind.
