Description
You are Arkhan. Born in a post-apocalyptic world, you were raised in a Stallite (Citadel of Light), one of the few places in the world with natural sunlight. Outside of your sanctuary, the world is not a safe place. The darkness creates a sickness that ravages the land. Given such an environment, the sun is worshipped as a god. Early in the game, a sun priestess you are defending is attacked by an assassin. In defending her, you get a vial of darkness thrown at you. Affected with the disease, you wander the land in this 3d adventure game in an effort to cure your illness and bring order back to the world.

In Kalisto Entertainment's port of its classic PC title
Dark Earth, players join the character Arkhan as he is swept from his routine life into a new and terrifying ordeal. Ever darkening plots of murder, treachery and greed surround him, as a fearful darkness envelops the city and an unknown evil threatens to transform him into a monstrous creature.
Similar in style and execution to Capcom's Resident Evil, Dark Earth features more than 25 minutes of rendered cutscenes, over 100 different interactive characters, an updated graphical presentation, and a refined inventory system that's been made native for consoles.
Unfortunately, despite publishing interest by both Sony and Konami, the PS2 version of Dark Earth was ultimately cancelled early in its development cycle.
