Deadlock: Planetary Conquest

Overall, Deadlock is a game of strategy, intense warfare, and diplomacy, and is extremely hard. I would recommend this game to any lover of the Turn-based strategy game genre. If you loved Alpha Centauri or Civilization, you'll love this game. If you are just getting into this particular genre, I would consider buying something else, like Alpha Centauri. That game is well done, and is one that most everyone should play.

Deadlock is a very addictive, time-consuming game. Always having been a fan of real-time action, I was pleasantly surprised by the success of the turn-based model used by Accolade. And, although I was somewhat disappointed with the battle sequences, I quickly accepted the fact that this was not meant to be a war simulation--this one's all about building and managing your settlements better than the other guy. If you, like me, often had more fun in C&C or Warcraft planning your strategies, building a war machine, and racing to the resources than you did fighting, check out Deadlock.

Deadlock har ingen mangler. Grafikken er god, interfacet er godt, musikken og videoklippene er gode. Deadlock er ikke bare godt - det er rigtig godt! Deadlock hat eigentlich nur ein Problem: Master of Orion 2. Der übermächtige Konkurrent gibt langfristig viel mehr her. Die Pluspunkte von Deadlock: Grafisch annährend auf Ascendancy-Niveau und einsteigerfreundlicher als MOO2. Darüber hinaus steht der Business-Aspekt stärker im Vordergrund. Nachbesserungswürdig erscheint uns u.a. die fehlende Einflußnahme bei Angriffen.

Several years ago, Sierra attempted to combine the addictive building qualities of SimCity with the proven world-conquering feel of Civilization in a space strategy title called Outpost. Promising multi-player conflicts, scores of scientific advances for competitors to research, and an entire planet as the prize, the rushed developers instead managed to release one of the most disappointing titles of all time. Although it's been a long wait, Accolade has managed, with their new Deadlock, to deliver the goods promised years before.

Grafiken är snygg. Ljudet däremot håller en lägre standard. Musiken är stämmningsfull men enformig vilket är synd. Det är inget att hänga läpp för, eftersom spelet i övrigt är bra. Riktigt roligt blir det om du spelar mot dina polare. Du kan nämligen förolämpa dem på flera sätt. Nu finns det också vissa krav på din dator. Att spela Deadlock på en dator sämre än en Pentium är segt. Har du en bra dator och gillar strategispel, är det här ett spel för dig.

Ein Argument für Deadlock könnte der halbwegs brauchbare Mehrspielermodus sein. Außerdem ist es mangels echter Vielfalt leicht zu überschauen. Unterm Strich wird gerade noch durchschnittliche Kolonisiererei geboten, aber wenig Langzeitspielwert. Können Sie mir sagen, weshalb ich deswegen auch nur eine Minute von Master of Orion 2 lassen sollte?
