Summary

Fun, ground breaking shooter.

The Good

Playing the role of a top secret Delta operator running around the sprawling landscapes of trouble spots in North Africa, South East Asia and former Soviet states, knocking off tin pot dictators, kidnapping drug barons and rescuing hostages is as much fun as it sounds. The play areas can only be described as mammoth and measured in kilometers, no other FPS has ever come close to such large areas. Enemies will dive to the ground if they come under fire and don't know where the shots came from, others will run to raise the alarm and gun shots will attract any enemies close enough to hear them.

The Bad

The AI is the main problem with this game; an enemy will sit inside a tent firing off hundreds of rounds of ammunition into the walls of the tent, which might be fine if you could shoot through objects and walls or if bad guys had limited ammunition but unfortunately it's not the case. Team mates will remain motionless until you trigger a waypoint for them to start moving, this falls apart when you take an alternative route through the level and your team mates will not do anything at all to help. The interiors of buildings are often pitch black from any distance and only become viewable when you actually get to the door way, by which time you usually have been shot by the soldier hiding inside who is watching the door way. Unfortunately you can complete all the missions with the M4 due to it's powerful scope and high rate of fire, this renders all the other weapons redundant which is a pity as the sniper rifles would really become useful in this game other wise.

The Bottom Line

A lot like Project IGI without the respawning enemies. A 'one hit - one kill' FPS with mammoth levels and an emphasis on stealth and not being seen.
