DemonStar is Mountain King's smooth scrolling, fast moving, space-based shoot-'em-up in which you must pilot your ship through an oncoming horde of enemies. Your foes range in size and power from gnat-like to mighty and they attack from all sides. Your goal is to find and destroy the boss at the end of each level. Upgrade your firepower along the way by collecting powerups that speed your fire, increase your fire spread, or provide more powerful weapons. It's a great game in single-player mode, and you can make it more interesting by playing with others. The very reasonable registration fee gets you 12 additional levels, additional weapons, a level editor, and a bunch of other goodies. It's not the first game of its type by any means, but it will engage you from the moment you hear the opening music.
