Game Over Online
I must say that I was truly impressed with Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza. I felt like I’d actually entered the building as John, cracked of a few “Yippee-Kay-Yays”, and saved some lives as I roamed through the massive building. Not only did I manage to get my “Action Hero” fix, but also I managed to feel just as exhilarated as I did when I watched the movie for the first time. First Person Shooter or Action fans will definitely do themselves a disservice to not pick this game up, but other players would definitely do their computer, and their game libraries, well to add this to their collection. “Welcome to the party, pal!”

Game Vortex
Nakatomi Plaza is overall a great game, and the gameplay within certainly rivals any first-person shooter on the market in its own right. Controls in the game are simple enough and can easily be re-configured to suit anybody that plays it. It's unfortunate that there are minor glitches in the game, and that the menu system has faults of its own. Otherwise, this game is kick-ass and could have been rated much higher. Still, Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza is a killer game, and any fan of the movie must check this it out.

Game industry News (GiN)
Taken as a whole, Nakatomi Plaza is an enjoyable and realistic shooter. I am a bit confused as to why multiplayer was never added, which is simply a must in this day and age. But the single player game not only tests your reflexes but also your brains. Think of it as a "thinking man's quake," and you should be happy.

PC Zone
Ultimately, though, Nakatomi Plaza is an entertaining licensed shooter, which is marred by a pathetically dated engine and pitiful graphics, a visual monotony which makes the somewhat varied gameplay and well scripted set-pieces tire by about the half way mark. However, it's the hidden pleasures that lurk behind its baseball bat violated face that make Nakatomi Plaza well worth a look, especially at this price. It's time to pull a pig off the shelf and realise that what lies within is well worth your attention. Still wouldn't shag it though.

Armchair Empire, The
Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza is a good first effort from the mod creators turned game creators at Piranha Games. While it may not revolutionize the genre, fans of the movie shouldn’t be disappointed. The ability to lean around corners and the addition of the three fatigue levels adds another dimension to the game but the straightforward shooting nature doesn’t stray much from convention – but that certainly doesn’t mean you won’t have fun.

Is it fun? Well, yes, I enjoyed it quite a bit. But play it for what it is: a story-driven, linear FPS. If you're looking for more, something to expand the realm of first-person gameplay, this isn't it. But killing off terrorists who are trying to take over a tall skyscraper has its undeniable appeal (even if they're really just thieves), and on that level this game delivers.

Schade – aber Die Hard ist
leider nicht das Actionspiel,
das die spannenden
Stirb-Langsam-Filme verdient
hätten. Die Wucht,
mit der John McClane sich
im Kino durch den Nakatomi Plaza ballert,
kommt hier jedenfalls nie rüber. Stattdessen

Die Hard Nakatomi Plaza feels very much like a rushed out beta. It's the little things like enemies walking through doors and occasionally appearing to freeze on the spot that infuriate. I would imagine though that the game will eventually be patched and niggles such as this will be ironed out. If this is the case then at the price it will be well worth it.

Nej.

While creating an action game based on the events of Die Hard seems like a logical endeavor, it doesn't work out in the case of Nakatomi Plaza. Fans of the movie might enjoy reliving some of McClane's memorable battles, but that novelty will wear off sooner rather than later. And its severe problems with the frame rate and the AI, as well as the lack of any replay value or multiplayer options, keep Nakatomi Plaza from being recommendable to first-person shooter fans. Even with its cheap $30 price tag, only the most die-hard Die Hard fans should pick up this game.

To those who say that mine is the greatest job in the world, I would ask them to play Die Hard for a week. There are some games you play because you love them and some games you play because it's your job. Die Hard is definitely one of the latter and I'm glad to be putting this review behind me. What puzzles me is who gave the greenlight to a mediocre game based on a 14-year-old movie. What's next? A Rent-a-Cop mod for SWAT3? Or how about a Last Temptation of Christ adventure game. I can hear Dreamcatcher salivating already.

If you liked the movies, you'll like the game and probably be entertained. I'm just saying it's not really worth thirty dollars. I mean, with thirty dollars, you could buy dinner for two at a pretty decent restaurant, or you could purchase Nakatomi and have ten hours of a mildly-good time. It's just not essential to survival. You be the judge.

All Game Guide
Unfortunately, despite the excellent movie to work from, Nakatomi Plaza is a fairly average shooter with a couple of new elements thrown in, one of which doesn't seem to affect gameplay. The game feels as if it's a throwback to shooters made prior to games like Unreal, and while reliving a few scenes from the movie is enjoyable, it's just not enough.

Adrenaline Vault, The (AVault)
Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza is a straight vanilla shooter. It does many things well, many things not so well, but nothing exceptionally; the license doesn't help at all, especially if you've seen the movie. Instead of being just another average shooter, it becomes just another average shooter that is also highly predictable. The lack of multiplayer also hurts this title's longevity. If you're tearing your hair for a new FPS experience, Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza may provide a few fleeting hours of forgettable pleasure. For the average gamer, however, store shelves are brimming with far better uses for your money.

ActionTrip
When all is said and done, Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza is nothing to write home to mother about. Just another game adapted from a movie that completely fails to impress. The only thing good about this game is the scenery and the weapon mechanics, but even that isn't going to rescue this game from fading quickly into obscurity and the bargain software bin.
