DiRT

Even though DiRT has a few faults, there is no denying that the game is the most fun you will have with a racer because, despite those faults, DiRT delivers on a level that is something to marvel from rally racers. If you are an asphalt loving racing fan, then this one you might want to stay away from, mainly due to the different mechanics put into rally games versus conventional racing games. However, if you love getting dirt stuck in places the sun don't shine or if you are looking for something fresh to suck you in, then DiRT is the racing game you have been wishing for.

Trudno wytknąć jakąkolwiek poważną wadę DiRtowi. Kilka nieznaczących (słabe powtórki, brak wątku ekonomicznego) się znajdzie, ale tak szczerze… jest to czepianie się na siłę. Nowy Colin to zwyczajnie najlepsza samochodówka, jaka jest w tej chwili na rynku. I jeszcze długo tak zostanie.

On a whole I found DiRT a lot of fun, the varying race types all add a little something, but racing down a winding path at 100mph with trees or a cliff edge either side is absolutely exhilarating. Add in the wheel with the force feedback helping you feel your way through the slides and the cornering, and racing fans of all types are onto a real winner with this title.

Ja, die Grafik haut im Rekordtempo aus den Socken. Und ja, die Blechschlachten mit Trucks, Buggys und Oldtimern machen einen Heidenspaß. Trotzdem war der Begeisterungssturm der Kollegen bei mir anfangs nur ein laues Lüftchen: Keine Regenrennen, keine taktische Reifenwahl, kein Schlittern auf Eis und Schnee, nur sechs statt bisher acht Austragungsorte - das müssen Fans der ersten Stunde erstmal verarbeiten. Doch bald wurde mir klar, dass der Vergleich mit den Vorgängern unfair ist: Schließlich soll Dirt ein Neuanfang sein - nicht nur für die Rallyeliebhaber, sondern für jeden Rennspielfan. Und das gelingt mit Bravour! Noch nie waren die Strecken schöner, die Unfälle spektakulärer, die Zweikämpfe dramatischer. Dirt fasziniert deshalb sowohl den Need-for-Speed-Junkie als auch den GTR-Experten... und inzwischen auch mich.

Die scharfe, detaillierte Optik der abwechslungsreichen und fordernden Spielumgebungen sucht unter PC-Spielen ihresgleichen. Allerdings benötigen Sie einen leistungsstarken Rechner, um die ganze Pracht zu erfahren. Selten sah ein Rallyespiel - besonders in den nach den Wettbewerben eingespielten Wiederholungen - so authentisch aus. Auch Fahrverhalten und Schadensmodell überzeugen restlos. Die ansprechenden und sehr übersichtlichen Menüs runden den Top-Eindruck ab. Nur ein paar mehr Zuschauer entlang der Strecken hätten sein dürfen... Ansonsten ist dieser Rallye-Ritt in allen Belangen "gut".

So in all, DiRT definitely stands out as a premiere racing game. The gameplay is great—though it may take a bit of getting used to for those you stick to common racing games—and the graphics help push it along as well. What’s great is there’s also plenty of depth to career mode and good amounts of fun to be had in championships and multiplayer, making Colin McRae’s DiRT definitely worth a purchase.

Technisch überzeugt der Titel auf ganzer Linie. Optisch findet sich auf dem Rennspielmarkt momentan kein anderes Spiel, das ein derartiges Grafikfeuerwerk bietet. Unschärfe- und HDR-Effekte sowie die unglaublich detaillierten Wagenmodellen lassen staunen. Die ersten Fahrten auf einer sonnigen Strecke Italiens enden meist abseits der Piste, zu groß ist die Ablenkung durch die grafischen Finessen des neuen Colins. Nur in Sachen Motorensounds enttäuscht das Spiel. Die Flitzer klingen alle­samt nicht satt, eher zu hoch - nur die Buggys der CORR-Rennen ertönen stimmig. Dafür passt die Musikuntermalung in den Wieder­holungen. Die Synchronisation des Co-Piloten ist gleichsam gut umgesetzt und passt genau zu den jeweiligen Strecken.

Dari presentasi di atas, dengan hadirnya berbagai mode permainan yang baru dan menarik, lalu adanya fitur pembelian mobil dan kustomisasinya, skill AI yang tidak boleh dianggap remeh, serta kualitas grafis dan suara yang memukau, membuktikan ambisi besar Codemasters dalam menghadirkan sebuah game reli yang realistis. Game DiRT wajib dicoba dan tidak mengecewakan bagi penggemar game bergenre racing.

Colin McRae DiRT does what it needs to do; the graphics are excellent and the quick gameplay gives you healthy adrenaline pushes. I did have some problems with errors and crashes and although I have a test version, I’ve read that the retail version doesn’t tend to work so great with everyone either. If you can look past that, you’ve got a very good new racing game that I’ll be keeping and not destroy!

DiRT is one of the coolest racing games I have ever laid my hands on. Though the framerate is sometimes suspect, there's never been a racing game with this much detail. When you can count every leaf on every piece of brush across a three mile track, that's a major graphical accomplishment ¿ just make sure you have a high-end PC to run DiRT. Now, if only every aspect of DiRT matched the graphics and presentation, it would be among the top racers on PC. DiRT does a poor job of giving a sense of weight to its cars, which makes every vehicle feel very similar. DiRT isn't quite as good as some previous installments in the Colin McRae racing series, but it's certainly a worthy addition to the library.

Als Jünger der ersten drei Teile hatte ich große Erwartungen, da mich die letzten beiden Parts ziemlich enttäuschten. Und in meinen Augen ist der "Neuanfang" durchaus gelungen. Insbesondere die vielen Vehikel, die mannigfaltigen Meisterschaften, das spektakuläre Schadensmoddel und nicht zuletzt die Grafik sind toll. Doch diese positiven Aspekte haben auch kleine Schattenseiten. Das Sammeln diverser Dreckschleudern stört den Spielfluss. Speziell anfangs sind die Rennen zu kurz, um sich voll ins Geschehen hineinzuversetzen. Totalausfälle scheint es nur im Zusammenhang mit dem Verlust eines Rades zu geben. Und die trübe Weichzeichner-Optik trübt auch meinen Eindruck. Nichtsdestotrotz gefällt mir der neue Colin sehr gut, es bleibt aber Luft nach oben.

It’s strange that a game called “DiRT” would be so conspicuously clean. There’s no mud, puddles, or general nastiness to speak of. Your car might get a little dusty, but nothing a dry cloth couldn’t handle. Off-road racing is supposed to be dirty. Real dirty. Regardless, DiRT is a fantastic rally racing game that aims to be a fantastic all-around off-road experience, but like internet porn, next time it needs to get a little dirtier.

Poza tradycyjnymi rajdami, w których ścigamy się tylko z czasem, weźmiemy więc udział w off-roadowych zmaganiach z podobnymi nam śmiałkami i to w tak niecodziennych (jak na Colina) wehikułach jak: ciężarówki marki Kamaz lub Kenworth (bardziej znane z 18 Wheels of Steel), terenówki firm Mitsubishi, Volkswagen i BMW czy wreszcie wozy typu Buggy. Wygrane w wyścigach umożliwiają wspinanie się po drabince sukcesu, dają też wirtualną mamonę na odblokowywanie i zakup kolejnych samochodów wszelakiej konstrukcji (z napędem na cztery koła, na oś przednią lub tylną itp.). Łącznie na odkrycie czeka imponująca liczba ponad 40 wózków i 180 różnych rodzajów malowania. Długie godziny, ba, dni zabawy mamy więc jak w banku.

Fans of Codemasters' Colin McRae rally racing series are in for a surprise with the publisher's newest title, DiRT. DiRT has more in common with Digital Illusions' Rallisport Challenge series than the Colin McRae games of old, putting a greater emphasis on a variety of off-road racing disciplines, as opposed to sticking hard and fast to traditional rally racing. That's not to say that rally fans will be disappointed with the game. DiRT veers a good bit further into arcade territory than earlier games in the series, but it is still a blast to drive, and absolutely stunning to look at.

Uiteindelijk is Colin McRae DiRT dus een goede game geworden, netjes afgewerkt (iets wat zeker fijn is om te merken in deze dagen van gehaaste releases) en het allerbelangrijkst: een lekker spelende game. Qua levensduur zit het ook snor, met de 46 te behalen auto's en de in totaal 186 skins. Een aanrader dus!

To sum it up, is DIRT a good game? Besides suffering from a mild identity crisis, this is a very good racing game. It is complex, demanding, and it can get pretty intense, especially in Rally races. Will this game be playable on most rigs? I very much doubt it. For whatever reason, the ridiculous hardware requirements are seriously messing with the overall impression that you get from playing DIRT.

"Colin McRae Dirt" for Xbox 360 and PC is nearly a winner, only falling at the last hurdle. It has gorgeous graphics, a fun arcade-simulation balance, lots of different types of races, good sound and good AI. Then you get the annoying Americanisation, the poor online play and some framerate issues. If these were sorted, then it would be an amazing game. As it stands, it's just a very, very good rally game! If you have the time or inclination, this is well worth playing and good value for your money.

Nový Colin má svoje svetlé aj temné stránky. Grafika patrí medzi to najlepšie, čo je na PC k dispozícii, s hrateľnosťou to však už také ružové nie je. Svoju úlohu ale splní – zabaví na pomerne dlhú dobu, a čo je dôležité, baviť sa dá naplno, teda ak zvládnete trochu nepoddajné ovládanie. Nejedná sa však o žiaden prelomový titul, keby niekto čakal niečo v tomto zmysle.

I přes nepříliš povedený multiplayer si zasluhuje Colin McRae DiRT uznání za hru se skutečně širokým záběrem, precizní grafikou a především maximální snahou o hráčovo potěšení z rychlé jízdy, nesvázané zákony fyziky až tak přísně.

Efter ett par halvdana spel är denna spelserie på allvar tillbaka på banan. Detta är ett av de roligaste och mest välgjorda racingspelen på länge, med gott om innehåll och bra känsla. Det usla flerspelarläget och en del tekniska bekymmer (instabilt, knackigt ljud ibland) hindrar betyget från att skena i topp. Om du ogillar kopieringsskyddet Starforce ska du också se upp. I övrigt ett kalasköp - välkommen tillbaka, Colin!

There are many aspects of Colin McRae DiRT that many gamers will enjoy. The variety in the racing disciplines is certainly refreshing and will definitely widen the games appeal to attract those who may not have been interested in previous Colin McRae rally titles. The graphics are very impressive and include real-world roads and the vehicles all look superb. The frame rate issues, the poor multiplayer and the slightly floaty handling are all negatives that take away from the experience. That said you do get used to the handling after spending an hour or so with the game and the frame issues are only present in wheel-to-wheel races. On the whole, DiRT for both the 360 and the PC is a very enjoyable racing title but there's clearly room for improvement, especially on the multiplayer side of the game.

Destiné à combler les attentes d'un public peu exigeant en terme de réalisme de conduite, il décevra ceux qui l'attendaient comme le premier jeu de rallye de la machine. Plus près d'un TOCA que d'un WRC, il emprunte donc une voie différente de celle que l'on associait à la série Colin McRae. Mais au final, on adhère très rapidement au concept et les heures de jeu s'enchaînent à grande vitesse.

By admitting the staggering four-wheel battle on the console tracks, all this production effort seems to be justified. But that fails to comfort the earliest upholders of a franchise that, as far as I'm concerned, has started to walk on two lines from the moment the third installment has seen the publishing light. One thing is more certain that the rest. The Colin McRae Rally series is dead. Officially buried, and with all the proper bells and whistles involved.

En racingsimulation som inte tyngs ner av onödig realism utan koncentrerar sig på det roliga i att flyga fram över stock och sten i 140 kilometer i timmen. Snabbt, skitigt och svettigt spännande.
