Dragon Dice

Мне кажется, у Dragon Dice не будет большого будущего, и до популярности компьютерного варианта Magic: the Gathering ей никак не дотянуть. И в этом нет вины авторов и издателей, просто игра сама по себе "слишком настольная". Dragon Dice можно смело порекомендовать тем, кто когда-то играл в TSR'овскую версию и до сих пор вспоминает ее добрыми словами. Для таких людей Dragon Dice будет истинной находкой. Впрочем, в любом случае игру все равно надо посмотреть - хотя бы для того, чтобы сделать собственные выводы. Dragon Dice совершенно не "жадна" до системных ресурсов, так что не отнимет у вашего компьютера много машинного времени. И если M:tG вас слишком "загружает", попробуйте Dragon Dice. Гарантирую, думать не придется.

Hvis man er til fantasyspil-konverteringer på PC (some f.eks. Magic: The Gathering), så er Dragon Dice det rette valg. Men det kan godt være lidt ensformigt, da der er fokuseret meget på kampscenerne.

In my opinion, this game will appeal to a small subset of strategy gamers. Specifically, those who played the board game and liked it and want to play it against friends while letting the computer do all of the calculating and figuring. The rest of the strategy gamers should, in the immortal words of the NYPD, “move along…nothing to see here.” This game is essentially a dice game that was translated into a computer game with no real benefit, other than confusing the hell out of those of us who never played the original. You are probably better off looking elsewhere for a worthwhile venture, unless you are a player and lover of the original version, in which case you might get some enjoyment out of this.

There's nothing inherently wrong with Dragon Dice. It just doesn't warrant such a full blown treatment, or a full blown price ($54.95 street). And rolling virtual dice just isn't as appealing as rolling the real thing. In much the same way that card games often don't translate well, once you take away the social and textural pleasures of Dragon Dice, what's left just isn't that engaging.

Was schon als Würfelspiel in deutschen Läden Staub ansammelte, wird bei der Umsetzung für den PC endgültig zur Katastrophe. Schlechte Grafik, hölzerne "Intros" und die unverschämte Erweiterungsset-Option passen perfekt zu den abwechslungslosen Kampagnen. Selten habe ich es so sehr bedauert, daß mir eine Null-Sterne-Wertung versagt ist. Unsere eindeutige Empfehlung: Hände weg!
