Adrenaline Vault, The (AVault)
In all, an above average game. How much above average it will be for you depends on what you want in a game. I did not think it was as fun or as good as Realms of the Haunting, which I thought was an excellent adventure game with the 3D action element thrown in. However, Dragon Lore 2 was fun to play, was fairly uncomplicated, and had an entertaining quality to it. The graphics and music did a nice job of setting a good atmosphere for the game and it was easy to get a "feel" for the game. The storyline moves along nicely, and it stays away from some of the gore you will find in games like Realms. Overall, I think Dragon Lore 2 is a decent game worth consideration.

Som adventurespil er det lidt lineært og problemløst i handlingen, og som rollespil falder det helt igennem med en rædselsfuld udgave af sværdkamp og magi.

This game will likely please any Dragon Lore fan and there is enough of a story about dragons and mysterious lost artefacts and lost labyrinths to keep lots of players interested. Although I thought there could have been more emphasis on story and puzzles rather than on heroics, but that just my opinion. It's not a difficult game and the problems are certainly not insurmountable. Notwithstanding the glitch mentioned earlier, even if you miss finding a useful item, with one or two exceptions, either it won't be crucial to completing your quest or you will likely be able to get hold of it elsewhere. To my mind this removed a lot of the challenge from the game, but such generosity does make it more playable for players who are new to this type of game.

Here is the sequel that no one asked for. Indeed, we gamers clamored for second chapters of Warcraft, Command and Conquer, and Lands of Lore, to name a few, but when was the last time that anyone asked, "Gee, when is that next Dragon Lore title going to be ready?" The original was a tepid adventure/RPG, interesting only because of its nicely rendered 3-D environments, but otherwise hampered by weak combat and gameplay. Someone at Cryo apparently felt that this bland recipe was a winning formula, however, because here is the regrettable sequel. From movement to combat, interface to disc swapping, Dragon Lore II is about as frustrating a gaming experience as I have encountered in recent years.
