Description
Egyptian Challenge is a
Columns clone. Like in that classic, columns made of three jewels fall from the top of the screen and have to be arranged to make matches of three or more of the same type.
The screen is divided in two fields, each side dedicated to a player. The adversary can be the computer or another player. These fields have tabs at the top, where power-ups are stored as hieroglyphics for later use. Power-ups are collected by making combos, multiple matches at the same time.
The power-ups are collected and used automatically. They are organized in four groups: attack, defense, attack and defense and one that wins the level. Jewel rain (4 to 5 jewel match) drops gems in the enemy field. Freeze (6 to 7 match) locks in ice some of the adversary's gems for a certain time. Disappear (8 match) removes some jewels from the field. Power stone (10 match) drops rocks in the enemy field.
