Looks like the video games and the movies industries start to interact more and more often and it seems to be a boost for the both of them. Well, the game offers about 8-10 hours of gaming experience and I can't really say I was particularly impressed with it. However it did make me wonder about the movie and I must admit I can't wait for it to hit the screens. All in all, if the game was meant to be a preview to the movie, than it met its goal beautifully. Otherwise, despite the fun experience and appealing storyline, I'm sorry to say it's not a must have of the action adventure genre.

They could have made things so much better with some thought and time but I am guessing the movie release had a lot to do with the timing of the game release. Eragon for the PC is not worth getting unless you just have to. Now if I can get my Gameboy Advance version of Eragon away from my kids I think I will have better luck with that version.

Eragon isn’t an awful game. The problem is that what is there isn’t good. There’s not a lot of gameplay to keep someone playing for very long, and that’s including the secrets. The controls are mediocre, but the combat feels too simple, since only one or two moves are really needed, and the AI can just easily get kicked off edges anyway. The plot is too thin to entice anyone new to the story, and there’s just not enough there to interest anyone else.

Eragon isn't worth the brief amount of time it takes to play through it. The gameplay and presentation aren't up to snuff and the storytelling cutscenes don't do their job at all. Games based on movies are notorious for not living up to their big screen cousins, but all of the elements for creating a good action game of this nature have been laid out in the past so there isn't any excuse. Even if you're a huge fan of the fiction, a rental is the most time you'll want to spend with this game. Even that might be pushing it.

GameSpot
Both as an action adventure game, and a licensed work, Eragon comes across as substandard in just about every way imaginable. It feels like an unfinished game that was rushed through to release in time for the movie to appear in theaters. The combat is repetitive, the presentation is dull and lifeless, and the entire game suffers from an apparent lack of effort.
