Well, not really owning but at least you can be the landlord of any major building in most towns. Be advised that this is an "EVIL" approach to the game.
You will notice that some houses are already available for rent, exactly one house per town. Other houses and stores already have occupants. In order to own those houses and stores, you have to "evict" the occupants. Unfortunately, the only way to do so is to kill them. When you kill the correct people (easier just to kill everyone -period), a sale sign will appear in front of the building of the tenant killed (Note: that if a building has 4 occupants for example, you have to kill all 4 of them).
The towns of Bowerstone South and Bowerstone North is somewhat a hassle as you cannot brandish your weapon manually there, nor can you cast spells. So you have to make the tenants follow you and THEN kill them outside the city walls. Sufficient to say, you need high attractiveness and low scariness to successfully achieve this (try experimenting with armor/clothes, tattoos and haircuts). Also, please note that in later versions of the game, you cannot own all houses in Bowerstone South, as the feature where you can kill children has been removed.
Additional Note:
For taverns, you need to kill:
[1] The Innkeeper;
[2] The Barmaid;
[3] The Game Master (and yes, in Bowerstone South, you can only kill him via fist fighting).
The bard, regardless of his poor singing skills, need not be killed.
You may notice that the game becomes a lot longer if you try to conquer every town this way. |
