I've been replaying Fallout 2 for the first time in like 6 years and ran into a buggy problem. I can't seem to leave Vault 13 with deathclaws in it without dying from radiation. The doc there doesn't help I just die whenever I ask him to heal me. I used an item editor to give my character 50 radaways but it didn't work at all. Must be a bug. Can somebody provide a link to a character editor that will allow me to dispose of a "Radiated" attribute once and for all? The character editors I found around the net couldn't do that. Please. :-(
Are you sure it's a bug? I surely didn't encounter it when I played the game... maybe it was a result of your actions? Did you kill those deathclaws?
Stupid questions maybe, but who knows...
I am sure it's a bug, because whenever I tried to ask some doctor to heal me, it didn't work at all and I was greeted with a message "You have received a large dose of radiation." That doesn't make sense. I wanted to get rid of it! So I played on hoping that radiation will go away or I would come into a possession of enough Radaways myself. And when I finally wanted to leave Vault 13 I just didn't have enough time to get anywhere, the character simply died regardless of his HP so I presume that radiation must be the cause. The doctor at Vault 13, when asked to heal me, says that I should rest after treatment and I die immediately afterwards.
So I tried to work around this bug by using item editor and getting 50 Radaways. When I used them, it always says that I dropped 25 points current radiation. Unfortunately the end is the same and I don't live to see the other day regardless of how many Radaways I used. I simply still have "Radiated" attribute turned on.
I am thinking about some character editor that will allow me to turn this attribute off permanently. The ones I've tried didn't help at all.
One more thing. I am the gamer who doesn't bother himself with using different saveslots so I have nowhere to retrace my steps back to. I've played through a lot and I am not looking forward to starting a game anew.

I've had a gamer friend like that. It's sheer madness! You never know what can happen! Thousands of things can prevent you from finishing the game! I always save in as many slots as possible, sometimes 40 or 50 if needed.
