Far Cry 2

I haven't tried this game, but here's a really interesting little piece about the character you play:

My thoughts exactly. A role playing game with an only role for you to play is that of a complete bastard. I would have get over that if game provided some incentive or variety to press on. But as it is it's a heartless and pointless simulation with pretty graphics engines and miraculous fire system.

Guys, you really give these things too much thought: Much as it happens with John Carmack's games, the Far Cry's are nothing but tech demos, we should be thankful that they're even playable at all =P

Unlike Carmack's games, though, Far Cry 2 takes place in a recognisable part of our world. And has you fighting against people, not mutants/demons.
