Summary

The best soccer simulation until now - although far from being perfect.

The Good

The gameplay is great. You have a great variety of moves, and all of them look pretty realistic. The graphics are very good, the movement smooth, and the animation convincing. There's some strategy to do in the game, like in real soccer. The opponent's AI is very good. There are 3 levels of difficulty, the highest one being quite a challenge.

The Bad

The controls are sometimes a bit awkward and it's a shame you can't redefine them like in NBA 2000. The faces look too similar. The amount of goals is not very realistic. If you play a soccer game of real 90 minutes, you are´likely to end with a score of 10-12 - even if you're at the hardest level. It's just too easy to score here. The goaltenders - the opponent's as well as your own ones - do a good job at the beginning, but after a short while seem to lose the concentration and are unable to catch a simple ball.

The Bottom Line

I like this game more than other FIFAs (including FIFA 2001), but the basketball games of Electronic Arts are generally much better.
