As far as free M.M.O role playing games are concerned Forsaken World is definitely part of the top few and the developer has proven it can handle the demands and necessary updates needed to keep a large M.M.O alive with the success of Perfect World.

I found Forsaken World to be an excellent game – the fact that it was released as a free-to-play game only serves to show us how much clout that model holds now. This is an AAA title, a big gun; it goes up against recent hits like Rift and holds its own. In many ways, in fact, Forsaken World's beautiful environments and distinctive art style give it a leg up on many of the games coming out nowadays. It has the systems and polish to back up the good looks – it has grind, sure, and that's boring, but truthfully it comes with the territory. What we as gamers need to look for is not grind or a lack thereof – it's uniqueness and well-crafted, inspiring worlds; robust systems and easy access to them. Games like Forsaken World will be around with their pretty pictures and never-ending distractions. It gives players a vivid world that teems with both players and NPCs – it will suck you in and make you feel like you're part of it, even if only in fleeting moments.

Unlike other free-to-play games, I actually enjoyed playing Forsaken World. I think of it as an Eastern World of Warcraft with a cash shop. The game’s focus on Western style gameplay really sets it apart from other Eastern imports. All the bells and whistles of current MMOGs are found here: talent trees, crafting, exploration, level-based gear, mounts, banks, and auction houses. The Eastern influences ranging from the visual look of the characters to the mechanics of player shops and pets give Forsaken World a unique feel. All in all, it’s a great merging of the better aspects of the East and the West into an enjoyable game.

It’s hard to find anything missing from Forsaken World: the game comes with dozens of options to let players gain levels and spend their time however they wish, from becoming master craftsmen to master hunters. The world is beautiful and detailed, and nothing feels rushed about the game – a good sign, considering the closed beta alone lasted months. Although still new, Forsaken World is probably the best Perfect World Entertainment game to date – and will certainly rival other free-to-play fantasy MMOs. Despite its similarities to other Perfect World games, this game is one you simply must download and try.

While sorely lacking in PvP options, Forsaken World still does a very admirable job with free-to-play PvE content that is rich enough to keep you coming back for more. The game still has a lot of room to grow, with only about a third of the main continent being used for playable zones and a handful of instances to enter, but this is a solid foundation to work on. It’s free, it’s pretty, and it’s got hot, busty vampire chicks. If any of those things interest you, Forsaken World is worth checking out.

From pets to pvp, even jobs, titles, reputation, achievements and so many other things, Forsaken world defiantly has a plethora of content. It is not hard to get into the game and once you do, you will be surprised how easily it sucks you in. This is a fun and visually pleasing game for many types of gamers like casual, non-casual, players who do not want to spend money, and even players that do. Whatever your play style, I am sure Forsaken World will grab you in and offer hours upon hours of fun.
Forsaken World and it’s publisher/developer have their fan base, who remain ever dedicated. The game’s pretty and inviting to new players of the genre, but I just couldn’t become immersed by it. PWE gets a lot of credit; each game they release has changes from the previous world they’ve created. I think if they upped the ante with their graphics, they could move up in weight class and contend with the bigger boys out there. For those of you looking for an MMO to try out to see what the genre is all about, this one would be a great choice. It’s a good blend of elements from a lot of other games out there, but it just wasn’t my pint.

Cheat Code Central (Apr 25, 2011)
If you are itching for a decent-quality MMO experience, yet are strapped for cash, Forsaken World offers a fair amount of gameplay for absolutely no cost. However, the gameplay experience isn't nearly as polished as the bigger-name MMOs out there. Whether or not Forsaken World will compete in the Western MMO market is yet to be determined, but its lack of price tag certainly makes it worth the download.
